In the post game interview, Rex said he was told it was recovered by the Miami Tight End by the official right at the end of the play.
First Downs: Miami: 10 Jets: 23 4th Down Efficiency: Miami: 0% Jets: 50% Total Net Yards: Miami: 104 Jets: 378 Avg. Yards per rush: (How on earth did u end up with Miami 2.9 and Jets 3.0???) Miami: 2.3 Jets: 3.2 Avg. gain per passing play: Miami: 1.9 Jets: 6.8
you won, but you got outplayed badly. As many of stated I would rather have the win, but please realize you guys were handed a gift.
Miami: 104 yards on 11 possessions. Avg. yards per possession: 9.45 (or less than ONE first down) Jets: 378 yards on 14 possessions. Avg. yards per possession: 27.0
2 of those possessions netted 201 yards. Adding that all of a sudden it becomes 11 possessions for 305 yards which is 27.72 average yards per possession. Big difference when you count return yards which is a part of the game.
You do realize that net yards includes return yards. Also, I stand corrected on YPC. I credited the Dolphins extra yards.
Enough with the return yards your offense stunk deal with it. Yes your ST flourished, but do you really expect to rely on that all season? Do you really think you just struck Gold with Ted Ginn Jr.? If this was an opposite situation I would be relieved we squeaked out with a win.
Total Net Yards? Maybe Im reading it wrong. Here: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2009110107/2009/REG8/dolphins@jets#tab:analyze As for rushing avg., I figured that out after I posted. Miami did have a 2.9 avg. But the Jets were 3.2, not 3.0. Anyways, Miami won and thats what mattered. Lucky, but Good win for Miami. Just don't expect to be scoring 21 pts on special teams and D again though.
