I know, I'm really glad that I single-handedly introduced him to the board.

Texans getting Haden was the easiest pick tonight.

Lucky bastard. Top ten kid, just didn't see any needs at corner down the line. A lot of teams have taken corners high recently it seems, so much so that most appear set through their top 3.

tebow may end up in miami, so he can run the wildcat...that is if they plan on making the offense a staple and not a 10 plays per game gimmick. i think he sucks as a pro qb possibility, but he throws a little better than ronnie brown. jax may have to move up to get him.

Well....I had to go in another direction...Cody was gone....another(unnamed) player on defense wasn't a big need.

Russell Okung was a steal in Mid/Late Rd 1......can play LT/RT and even guard.

Eh, not sure if I like the choice of OT, but if it's the best available, i guess it'll do.

If the draft really ends up like that I hope we decide to trade back.

As many question marks as Okung might have, at that point it's too good to pass up. It'd be like the Ravens drafting of Michael Oher this past year. They had their LT spot locked up, but a player of his caliber doesn't fall that often.

Russ Okung was the BPA. I like him as a guard at the next level and that's definitely a huge need with Faneca getting up there in age.

Okung's versatility makes him a good selection.

The reason I'm not that high on him as a big time left tackle prospect is because of the offense he plays in. Zac Robinson gets rid of the ball very quickly, so Okung isn't asked to do too much as a pass protector. He's done very well so far this season, I just don't like spread tackles. Also, in run blocking, OK State uses a lot of sweeps and outside runs - Okung is very quick at getting to the outside...great blocker in space. I think he'll be a very good pull guard in the pros.

So you would move him to guard?

It just seems that the biggest need for our OL is depth, and drafting a player like this to sit on the bench until Faneca retires, or leaves, seems like a waste of money and a 1st round pick when we could pick up depth in later rounds.

As far as my last pick goes, DeAndre McDaniel is a kid that should be seeing his stock explode really soon. He is without any doubt a top 3 safety if he goes pro, and I believe could challenge Mays if he falters in workouts. McDaniel has size, speed, and a nose for the ball. He's just a machine.
