A fans of a team rooting for a rival that they play 10+ times a year and who called them choke artists....What a concept.
The Cubs, the Cards, the Braves...It changes. There is no Babe Ruth BS with the Mets going back decades.
LOL didn't one of the Phillies players call out the Mets for being chokers? How could you root for them? I can understand not rooting for either but to root for the Phillies as a Mets fan? It would be like a Jets fan rooting for the Patriots to win the Super Bowl. Oh yea they're in the AFC. An AFC team rooting for an AFC team....what a concept
The NL and AL play by different rules, its not the same as AFC/NFC. FYI. It is not that I am rocking a philly hat or anything. I am rooting for the Yankees to lose.
When I saw this thread, I thought what idiot could come up with any reason supporting that claim? I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
'Cause like the Phillies, the White Sox are the only other team that ever wore pink uniforms? It's like the White Sox and Phillies are sort of related or something.
i got one. if the yankees don't win the world series they will sign even more all stars and the red sox will have any even harder time winning next year. no? well it sounded good at the time.
The Phillies are not going away. They have a good chance to be the top team in the division for the next decade. The Phillies are what the Braves used to be. As for the Mets, they'll keep being the Mets. They'll spend and spend and spend and suck and suck and suck.
What makes it any different than the Mets fan calling their team a bunch of choke artists? Gotta respect a man who speaks the truth.....
yea comparing afc to nfc and al to nl is entirely different and i think you know that. Besides, this phillies/mets rivalry is actually kind of new, it was never as big as the braves rivalry. And yes, I would rather see the nl team win anyday when it comes to the yankees, even if it has to be the fucking phillies.
watching the yankees lose the world series is worth it to hear yankees fans bitching, "gotta get joe mauer, gotta get grienke, gotta get this guy, gotta get that guy!" never enough. How about some team chemistry?
Two points: 1. How many runs does chemistry produce/prevent? 2. If you've been paying attention to baseball, you'd know that the Yanks are said to have great chemistry this year.
my point is that the more interesting team has a few all stars in the line up with a solid foundation to support them (like the phillies, hate to admit, but theyre a good team) as oppossed to a team littered with all stars with giant contracts.
