idk i'm just replaying what i heard/read, that he has an accurate arm but he doesn't have that strong of an arm
I really don't think there is any way Tennessee passes on Berry. And I'm with you on Carlos Dunlap after i saw Ciron Black handle him
If Vince Young comes in and doesn't show anything, then there's definitely a chance that the Titans will draft a quarterback and start over. Wow...that franchise will take a major step back.
I knew I would take heat on Dunlap falling, I have thick skin and can take it. When Carlos is on his game ...he's a freak of nature. I just seen a few warning signs that concern me with his consistency. Dunlap would be fine with me to the Jets in Mid Rd 1. His abdominal injury in the spring may have slowed him some. I probably should've learned, since Tyson Jackson flew up the board and isn't nearly the player of Carlos. I really like Jermaine Cunningham and would love the Jets to draft him for the 3-4 OLB position...probably not a major need. I'm sticking with Cincy going RB, living in Ohio, I hear tons of Bengal talk and the coaching staff has mentioned that another RB would be a need. I disagree about Trent Williams for LT...he projects much better to Rt in the NFL. The "U" schooled Williams a month ago......it got ugly a few plays. Buffalo needs beef up front to stop the run. Titans will go QB....Collins and Young day's are numbered. The local kid stuff with Eric Berry , IMO, doesn't fly when drafting a safety. You don't pass up a Franchise QB.
dont know why everyone thinks jenkins is almost done nose tackles play into their last 30's. doesnt take much to be huge and push foward.
It's not about his age. It's about his health...he's been injured more than enough to scare us. Depth is what makes good teams great. Our defensive line is a mess and it looks like it doesn't have much a future. The FO has to start building NOW.
so draft a de to replace ellis, who is older and less productive than jenkins. that way you dont have a first round pick rotting on the bench if jenkins stays healthy.
I think Rex gets it and will tell Tanny and Co. to start building depth from the draft. No more trading up. We have more then enough star power. We need depth on the lines (particularly on the d-line)
If you have been around, most on this board agree we need another 3-4 DE ASAP. We can not overlook the NT/DT position. Even with Jenkins back in 2010, another rotational big NT is a must. Trust me, Cody isn't going to rot on the bench, he will rotate in alot to spell Jenkins and play in 4-3 fronts. Kris can't play the entire game, he wears down, especially later in the season.
So, we have 4 picks, two to use on the DL and two to use on the OL? Or should we trade back our first rounder?
Not sure if this has been brought up yet but is there any chance that Cleveland goes for anyone except Eric Berry? If Mangini stays he's going to need a new QB since Anderson is playing like shit and he clearly doesn't like Quinn. On the other hand, if he gets fired, why would the new coach try and build the defense with a free safety when none of their LBs are producing?
Three problems there. First, nose tackles are a lot more important, and Jenkins' injury questions pushes the need for another to the forefront. Second, a nose can play on the end in a 34, especially in Ryan's version. There's a lot of four down lineman as well, so you'll see both on the field often. Third, 34 DEs are more plentiful in the draft than true Noses are, not to mention a lot more varieties, so a team can take their pick of those who fit their style.
First, I don't think Mangini is going to get fired this year.......Lerner has man-love for him. Eric Berry is the most logical pick for the Browns, their secondary needs major help, but so does the rest of the team! There really isn't a defensive player or need that fits Mangini's scheme worthy of a top 5 pick, other than Berry. QB is a possibility, if he wants to start fresh, but it would be hard to pass up Berry. Mangini might trade down again and get more picks. Mangini could trade down and pick-up a Carlos Dunlap, Greg Hardy or Joe Haden.....all good fits for the Browns. Some team would love to trade up for Berry or a QB. It's all speculation.....IMO, Berry is the front runner.
Because Eric Berry is arguably the best prospect in the whole draft (assuming he comes out) and when you have as many needs as the Browns do, it doesn't matter what position you draft you just want the best players.
Who's list is Mt. Cody not on? He's arguably the highest profile college defender in football aside from Berry. With regards to WW85's mock, I think that taking Tim Tebow at #6 (before Jake Locker no less) would be a franchise crippling mistake. Not to say that the Redskins wouldn't do it, just that Tebow will not be half the pro player that he is at Florida. Intangibles can only take a lefty QB so far in the NFL.
Couple Notes * I think if the Titans go qb it will be Locker over Bradford, Bradford just scares me as a prospect, now i think he falls in to the second half of the 1st. * Cleveland should go with Berry but i dont think they will, they need a qb bad and even though Berry is probably the best player in the draft i think they go another route *I would switch the WAS and JAX picks * Houston is pretty much set at lb with Ryans, Miles and Cushing i think they go corner or safety * I personally wouldnt like the Cody pick and would much rather trade down or if we are stuck at that pick im picking Damian Williams or Dez Bryant, i know we just got Edwards but i always go with bpa if you dont likes who available. * Nice call on Dunlap falling, he has Mario Williams measurables, but i dont think he will be on that level of an impact player.
I put Tebow in for the Redskins cause I believe Snyder will go in that direction. I believe people don't give Tebow enough credit. Tebow is a winner and is one of the toughest Colloge Football players I've ever seen. Does Timmy Boy have limitations?..he sure does. Drafting a QB in RD 1 is a 50/50 crapshoot, Tebow will be drafted in Rd 1 and may surprise alot of Draft experts/Scouts that say he will not amount to squat in the NFL. The key to TeBow's success in the NFL will be the Coaching Staff/Offensive Coordinator.
I like the pick with Cody... But do you think he is athletic enough?? I watched film on him i just think he looks sloppy body wise... and usually when they come to the league with money as a key factor plus stress they tend to gain weight.. and maybe its because Andre Smith just left a bad taste in many peoples mouth with his work ethic and they have similiar body structure..
If Jet Fans want Cody to come in and sack the QB and make alot of big plays, they will be sorely disappointed. Cody will take on multiple O-Lineman, take up 2 gaps and hurt the opponent's running game. Rotating Jenkins and Cody will keep both player's fresh for the entire game. Cody is athletic enough to be one of the best NT's in the NFL....they don't grow on trees. Big men shouldn't be that quick. Cody isn't going to be the sexy pick and have alot of sacks. Cody will creat havoc on opposing team's offensive game plans and allow our Linebackers to make more plays. Rex would be the perfect coach to groom TC. Cody wouldn't be a good fit for alot of teams.
