Sanchez made the game winning drive, do you remember??

The Dolphins beat us in the final seconds, our defense didn't show up and that's why we lost.

    Not Sanchez!!

    Quoted for troof!

Fact is that it took Shotty so long to realize that we could throw against the phish......

This game though he can't keep putting Sanchez in 3rd & Fail situations.
That will fall on the O-Line.

They must control the Point of attack and getting yards on 1st Down will be essential!

There is something that Shotty fails to do and that is go for 1st downs. He seems to call plays that will lead up to a 3rd and short.

The Jets need to get an early lead if they want to win this game. Force Henne to throw the ball, now that we have played against him once and have 2 other games to use to exploit his weaknesses.

Agree with the gameplan, definitely the recipe to beat the fish.

Interesting subliminal typo there on Sanchez - week not weak

    Good post as always Gusto,

The keys to this game are going to be:
    1) Attacking on defense - read and reacting like last time will be a death knell on D.
    2) Continuing to run with the success seen over the past two weeks... the Jets need to prove they can run on good run defenses, not just terrible run Ds like the Bills and Raiders.
    3) Connecting with some big strikes in the passing game - I'm praying Cotchery is back this week... while I don't want to see the Jets relying on the pass to win this time around, I feel there will be some opportunities here and considering the gravity of this game, it isn't asking too much to demand the passing game comes up with a few clutch / big plays to help out the rest of the team effort.

This game is HUGE... this is the turning point for the Jets season... a win keeps us competitive, a loss puts us into a really bad spot...

Help if we have sheppard back at full strength next week too ...as playing one on one we will need to be fresh ...so having a rotation of guys will be key ..if we decided to do this.

Jets are going to have to win this game with offense.

There is no stopping Miami's offense. The Saints destroyed the Giants last week, they have a formidable defense, and still gave up 34 to Miami, and almost lost the game at the end.

I am not expecting anything for this game.

That's the key IMO... get an early lead, grind it out, keep the 'Phins offense off the field, and make them play catch up.

If the Jets can put up a TOP advantage of around 40 to 20 minutes, I think they'll win this game.

That was the whole problem though, when their O was on , it was effective and fairly quick.
Was our D really bad that day, or was the Miami O THAT good?
Alot of folks have this game going on the shoulders of our offense, sorry I disagree, I think it will a case of deja vu once again, but with maybe a different result.

    Here's my game plan:

    (1) Play good football
    (2) Wait for Joey Porter to do something stupid.
    (3) Celebrate with some sort of meat in a bun.

Biggest way w can stop the fins offense is through ball control of our own. Good mix, time consuming drives further shortens the game, puts more pressure on them to perform, and gives our defense a rest. That was one of the hidden storylines of the 2nd half Monday night vs. Miami-- our offfense was keeping pace but scoring on pretty quick, low-time consuming drives and I think that affected our defense. The other part is that the wildcat didn't kill us in the 3nd half-- it was actually a couple of good down and distance situations where our blitzes and DB play didn't produce the desired effect.
