Nice article I thought. I doubt TJ could manage another four years, but his work ethic is admirable.

I've been hard on TJ because I think Greene deserves more carries and that TJ doesn't hit the hole hard enough, but you do have to admire his work ethic and commitment. His numbers look good, although deceiving, we can't really hate on the guy for what he's brought to the table. He is stupidly jacked, you'd think he'd be a really physical player but he's definitely a cut-back runner.

Martin throughout his career has always been classy, shame he couldn't have made contact with TJ and congratulated him.

That surprised me a bit as well. But with Martin, I'd expect there to be a perfectly good explanation for this!

I like Jones and all, but I doubt any team will want him in four years or so.

If he can continue to play like he has done this season, it puts us in a great position to trade him or keep a solid player that Greene can work with.

Has anyone ever done a study on when RBs decline. Is it more to do with hitting a number of carries, or is it more down to age?

Which is the main determining factor?

As a rule of thumb its based on 'miles on the clock'. In TJs case although hes older than most HBs, hes not carried that many times, so I would say down to carries. Look at LT @ the Chargers.

Warrick Dunn is another good example.

The human body deteriorates. Eye sight, hearing, reflexes all decline and when you're talking about elite athletes small fractions are the difference between great and being on the bench.

People can maintain great physical capacity and shape for a good portion of their lives but that doesn't mean they can maintain the vision, reflexes and quickness needed to compete at an elite level with players who have the added advantage of youth and peak physical performance on their side unless of course they are taking something to maintain their edge.

That's just Curtis Martin's personality. Curtis is a humble, quiet guy. Not many, Fans and Players alike haven't seen or heard much from Curtis since his retirement. Curtis is not looking to draw attention to himself and is a private person.

I'm looking forward to seeing CM in Canton in the near future. I live only an 1 1/2 hours away and will be there with my #28 Jersey. I think Parcells will intoduce CM, his "Boy Wonder".

Jones is one of the best Rb's in the league. Someday maybe Jet fans will realize it.

Ill admit i was knocking TJ for the longest time.. Only because at this current moment his trade value is at its highest.. I would hate for the jets to keep him around til no one requires his service and get nothing in return for him.... Im really interested in getting CJ Spiller if he comes out next year..

spiller is a senior. he will be coming out.

Spiller is also a 1st rd/ early 2nd lock. so no fucking way hes a jet we simply dont have picks to spend on a RB.

Spiller is now the all time leader in all purpose yards in the ACC. He is also one of Three football players in ncaa history to have over 6,000 all purpose yards. Also notable, Spiller's speed was calculated on a reception at 28.8 mph.

Please remove all of TJ's long runs and you'll see he falls off that list. Those do not count.

I seen the game you were talking about... I think we need that all purpose threat too someone who can fill in for leon is off the field. When Leon leaves the field that takes away that exciting wow factor.. The FO should at least give this guy a look because we need help with KOR and maybe a look at PR as well i already know he would help the Running game

That is the most retarded logic I have heard here. Frank Gore has also had 2 70+ yarders in one game untouched. TJ is a very good rb who you people expect to get 5 yards a carry facing 8 man fronts which is unrealistic for any rb except AP.

Do that for everyone and I'll bet the list stays pretty much the same.
