The only trade I would like to see the jets make would be Thomas Jones head up for Rogers. Won?t happen
I'm game on trading for Rogers. When Jenkins comes back next season you move him over to DE and you now have Ellis/Jenkins/Rogers manning your D-line. That would be fun.
And who do we have to resign? We have to take all that into consideration? Rogers is in midst of a 6 year 48 million dollar contract, i'm not trying to downplay this cause I would love to have him but we have way too many players to resign plus rookie contracts, Leon, B.E. and filler players along with rookies that can cost ALOT
He was joking, from the direction that Goodell has been taking regarding negotiations for a new CBA, next year will be uncapped. Big-spending teams would be able to front-load a ton of contracts in a scenario like that.
Rogers contract wouldn't hurt much at all. Bonus would be covered by original contract team, whether it was Cleveland or Detroit.
I didn't mean to suggest the Jets give up too much in a trade. Of course. High picks for a good but not great player is too much, but perhaps a package can be put together with expendable players and low picks. I remain concerned that not attempting to get an NT in there is effectively giving up on this season.
For one thing, if we do trade for Rogers or whoever, we can always deal him after this season. I mean, if Jenkins doesn't retire we'll have him next year (on the cheap apparently) so it doesn't seem like that much of a risk. For one thing, a player's value might actually rise in our defense rather than in the situation that they are currently in. Disclaimer: I'm just brainstorming
Tanny needs to trade for some fairy dust too so he can sprinkle that shit on Jenkins ACL... GET IT DONE!
I wasn't joking. We're looking at about $30 million in cap space before re-signing guys from what I've read. This has to do with down years in contracts, freeing up dead cap space and the inevitable cut of TJ. We need to re-sign Leon, Mangold, Harris and Edwards assuming he does well. I doubt we keep lito with that huge contract he's scheduled to get. Mangold & Harris are locks to get re-signed. I'm not so sure about Leon. Edwards will depend on his performance. But if it's uncapped as expected at this point, you're right it doesn't even matter.
There is no way Lito is returning under that huge contract. They're gonna "release" him in February and try to work on a better contract Or, Dwight Lowery will start
man what a disaster day, woke up thinking of banging angelina jolie only to see roseanne barr at my door at 4 p.m. with a bag of peanuts
