Now we'll see if Rex is a one trick pony on D. This is where coaches coach and the mouths keep talking.

Oh enough of the nonsense, THIS IS A JET SITE, you think Jet fans are lying about Jenkins.... HE'S DONE FOR THE SEASON AS PER ESPN ....
Do the Jets have the personnel to run a 4-3? The NT in the 3-4 isn't a spot where a lot of 3-4 teams have depth. You take away any team's NT and they're basically screwed. On the upside, this is where you guys find out how good Ryan really is.
what we will find out is how good of a defensive mind Rex has - Jenkins didn't do much against the dolphins. Gonna have to be a bit creative but we have Oakland next week and a rematch against the fins. We need to get well in a hurry. If they can find a way to be 5-3 at the bye week the season might be at least fun to watch in November.
The bigger concern here is that a 360 pound man will soon become a 400 pound man sitting on his fat ass for the next 6 months. My fear would be that this isn't just one lost year, it's two.
That would be a difficult transition to make in the middle of the season.. just personnel wise.. I dont think we have the DEs for a 4-3 .. i mean we could possibly move Ghost to his original position.. but then who for our other DE.. and since harris isn't a great coverage linebacker.. you would defeat the purpose of having him by playing him as 43 OLB..
We were already having a difficult enough time getting to the QB. Without Jenkins, the Hennes and Fitzfuckingpatricks of the league are going to have a walk in the park. I still (stupidly?) have confidence that our HC can somehow make the necessary adjustments. That said, I'll predict no better than a 7-9 record this year.
It wouldn't be the first time somebody jumped the gun, or flat out lied, to get some attention. When the Jets put him on IR, we'll know he's not coming back. Until then, I'm in no rush to acknowledge every internet dickslap who wants to be first to break the bad news.
Hopefully Ryan can prove that he is as good as his mouth is and create schemes to make up for Jenkins.
The guy will never be the dominant force he once was, it was fun while it lasted. Man it sucks being a Jets fan.
um... why is the sky always falling? Players like Jenkins come around every so often. They don't come a dime a dozen. This is true. This means that there are also teams out there, winning teams, that don't have huge run stuffers like Jenkins, yet still find ways to win. We might have to nix the 3-4 scheme and start playing out of different formations. We are insanely strong at linebacker, shift the defensive focus to them. One player does not make a team. This defense will rebound because it's got a good set of coaches and playmakers all around. Save this thread so that when we overcome this "little-bit-of-chaos-sky-is-falling" we can look back and learn to relax.
