I'm in the Draft spirit again, so I figured I'd make one.

In this scenario, I'm trading our first round pick (22-27 range) back in to the 40-50 range and picking up a 3rd rounder. I also don't have us re-signing Lito, so we'd have the 4th rounder. That might be wrong, but I read that somewhere since he will definitely not hit the 85% mark.

    2) Vince Oghobaase DE Duke. Makes a lot of sense. We need a DE and he fits that. Ogho is a beast.

    2) George Selvie OLB South Florida. Dropping down some boards because he hasn't produced as much (Double teamed over 50% of his plays), but he has great pass rushing ability, which we dearly need. Selvie needs to put on some weight, but he's a big potential pick and gives us more LB depth.

    3) Mike Johnson OG Alabama. Another logical pick. Faneca is up there in age and costs a lot of money, Johnson helps replenish our line.

    4) Brandon Ghee CB Wake Forest. Without Lito, we could use more depth at CB. Ghee has really good size and would be a solid pick here.

    6) Javarris James RB Miami. Jones will likely be gone and we need depth behind Greene/Leon.

I really think Tanny needs to trade down to pick up a few more picks. We don't need any stars this year, but we should capitalize on the solid DL depth that will be available in the 2nd round. With QB and other skill positions basically set, the Jets can try and replenish some of their older spots.

I would be ecstatic with those first two selections.

Nice Picks.....I really like Ogbo & Selvie. I prefer Wootton for DE. I might go NT instead of Selvie.

Ghee seems to be a very good tackler and nice size, don't know if can be a #2 corner.

Do you really want to trust someone who isn't even producing as a DE in college right now? Sounds like another Gholston to me.

Selvie has been double or triple teamed on 60% of the plays this year. That's part of why Pierre is doing so well.

And Gholston was incredibly productive in college if I remember correctly. I wouldn't take Selvie with the 6th pick also, it's a much smaller contract and a great risk/reward pick.

If Selvie came out last year, he probably would have been a late rd 1 pick. With 2010's draft class being stronger, Selvie's lack of production, he will probably be a mid rd 2 pick. Don't be surprised if New England grabs Selvie with their multiple rd 2 picks.

As Grim said...comparing Gholston to Selvie is comparing apples to oranges. Lower risk/reward!! IMO, Selvie has shown he can drop into coverage at times (still a work in progress) and doesn't seem to be a bullrusher that Gholston was in College. Selvie seems to have more techinque rushing the QB or making a play in the backfield.

I wouldn't mind Selvie being drafted by the Jets, but our needs at 3-4 DE, DT/NT & OL supercede drafting a 3-4 OLB....with our #1 & #2 picks.

An interesting prospect, instead of Selvie, not many people are talking about is Dexter Davis, ASU. Davis is having a real quiet Senior Season, the Pac-Ten has learned to double team this monster. A perfect 3-4 OLB, 6'2" 255lbs, and is a sacking machine. Has over 27 career sacks and a non-stop motor.

Davis would be a nice addition in a later mid rd pick and might have a better career than Selvie. Davis' production this year is waaaaay down, but was a terror his prior 3 years. Good value in Rd 4-5 area.
