As far as I know, there is no rule against helmet to helmet blocking in between the tackles. So the block was not illegal. Besides, Scott leaned into Polite. Anyways, it would have been more impressive if Washington actually hit Crowder while he was looking.
Maybe the best thing about that hit is that Leon actually sent Chowder flying the full length of the NFL logo.
