Just watching NFL Red Zone, and I see Tony Romo asking the ref to throw a roughing the passer flag, and they call him pulling a Tom Brady. I love it. Whining to the ref for a call is now known as pulling a Tom Brady.
LOL.....gotta love it!!! As Rodney Harrison said, "Take the skirt off, Brady." "Los Pussito, California" hmy:
http://www.bangcartoon.com/2009/cluck.htm I had to watch this one three times, I was laughing so hard.
Funny thing is that whe I think of Whiners Marino, P. Manning come to mind 1st.... They cry/cried constantly alllllll game
Been hanging here for a few weeks, and the collective inferiority complex is second only to the Colts' fan base. More of you have "I hate the Patriots" names and signatures than just about any group of fans I've seen. That's not a criticism or anything... just an observation. When your board identity really has nothing to do with your own team, it's transparently obsessive.
Probably tue, but the obsession is 2nd to none. It's alot like the Red Sox fans obsession with the Yankees pre-2004. I know some folks who got more satisfaction from taking out the Yankees in 04 than they did from winning the WS. As a Pats fan, I have more built up dislike for the Dolphins than the Jets, but the rivalry with the Jets is really starting to build, because I see the Jets becoming a very real threat now more and more. Right now, I save my hate for the Steelers and the Colts.... and the Broncos who we have a bitch of a time beating. (BTW, I dislike Steeler and Eagle fans the most, the majority of Phins fans don't know shit about football) But I can see myself disliking Rex and the Jets alot more moving forward.
That analogy is actually really accurate. Not being a Red Sox fan, I can only imagine the bitterness and jealousy that maybe ultimately dated back to giving away Babe Ruth to a rival and having that rival subsequently win 26 world series titles while your own team goes multiple decades without winning 1 (which of course ended in 2004). Compare that to our collective feeling about the pats. belichick quits after ONE DAY as our head coach to go to a division rival and win them 3 Lombardi trophies and a decade of dominance, while we have achieved very little in that time. It's no wonder we despise the pats and very strongly want to see them, and especially belichick, do poorly. That's why the pats have supplanted miami as our most hated division rivals (until 2000, we hated the dolphins much more than the pats). You could understand why we hate your team to an extent that borders on obsession.
Good post, and really accurate IMO. I always kind of laughed when anyone described the Sox-Yanks "rivalry." A rivalry implies that there's roughly equal wins/losses! 26-0 is not a rivalry. NY kicked ass for several decades. Granted things have balanced out a little since then, but the Yankees are still playing and the Sox aren't.
It doesn't... the point is that none of you are any more capable of objectively looking at the situation than I am. Brady didn't do anything that doesn't happen a half a dozen times in every NFL game played. Guys fish for calls... it happens, it always has, always will.
there is a huge difference between players fishing for a legitimate call and a pussy crying for a call as animated as he did on a play where he wasn't even touched just to bail him out. you seem to be the only one not able to look at this objectively. to the rest of the world, not just us, by evident of the ridicule he is getting everywhere, Brady is a whining pussy.
