i would say I hate you guys more but I actually respect the on the field product. but I hate Miami and their fans in general cause no matter what sport it is theyre convinced theyre the best, and any argument they make is the end all be all in their minds. and the last 13 years weve owned the Phins so until losing to them becomes a regularity, and it never will. then I'd somewhat respect them. then again you guys have owned the division for the past decade so I'm sure arguing with fans of either team seemed stupid. until this year at least. Miami has a legit run defense and run offense. but I dont see their OL having a dominant performance like they did against us for the next 11 games. theyre good but they abused our front 7 minus Jenkins. I dont see that happening again either.
I voted Miami. This season, it seems that if you blitz Tom Brady and actually get close to him he's really ineffective. In years past he would usually be able to stand tall and still make plays but this year with the knee injury he doesn't seem as confident. Our weakness on D is definitely our run defense (over 100+ yards in 3 straight games) and Miami is very effective running the ball
That's not really a great stat to throw out, the latter teams played are run heavy. Overall our defense is allowing an average of 3.2 yards per carry, which is good enough to win. It just comes down to the defense playing a bad game. It happens, and we all know Rex and the entire Jets defense is learning from this.
The Titans averaged 4.2 ypc, Saints averaged 4.8 ypc and the Dolphins averaged 4.2 ypc. I know they're run heavy but those are still pretty high ypc to be giving up
Watson? He's had some moments but he's never been a huge part of the NE offense. Big disappointment, actually. He's physically gifted but can't seem to make an impact.
which of course is more important then 2-0 within the division....we dominated the colts, yes they won, but we dominated them , they dominate the rest of the league
Yeah I was talking overall on the season, 3.2 for 5 games isn't bad. The Phins are the top rushers in the league so that's to be expected, and I think we did a good enough job on Johnson, 97 yards and not TD's.
After some thought, I still voted New England. Henne had a good game, and if he can keep playing like that, they are scary than the Pats just because they're better in the trenches than New England on both sides. Still, Henne needs to prove more first before I pick the Dolphins. Those of you who keep ripping them apart and saying they suck are just being stupid right now. Their three losses are at Atlanta, vs Indy, and at San Diego. Would the Jets have won any of those games? I think we would have been able to pick one off, but that is a harder first three games than we have. Miami still has a bunch to prove, and their three game stretch of NO, at NYJ, and at NE after the bye will define their season. They're 2-3 now. If they can go at least 1-2 in those 3 games and end up 3-5, especially if one of the wins is a divisional win, their schedule clears up a lot in the 2nd half, and they have a solid chance.
Seeing as how the Giants are probably the best team in all of football no team is better then the Giants. They have the number 1 D with yards allowed and 2nd best O with Yards gained and thats with eli sitting out the entire second half and part of the 2nd quarter
Horse shit. If anything, that game had the potential to go much worse for the Jets. Both of those fake punts came very close to failing. Had the first one failed the Dolphins would have had the ball basically in field goal range and would take 7 points off the board, and the second one nearly at mid-field and would have taken 3 off the board. No they aren't, they're allowing 4.2 YPC. Their rushing defense is middle of the road. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/rushing/sort/rushingYards/position/defense I don't understand the shock at the Jets defense getting run on by the Dolphins. It's pretty close to the same players who got steamrolled in week 17 last season, it's just Rex Ryan's scheme, which ain't in any sense a cure-all.
NE is just another average team when they can't cheat with the opposing team's defensive blitz signals. It is just that simple. Miami: Wildcat run left, run right, and run up the middle.
I find the fact that you call a 3-4 base D with blitzing to be a "gimmick" hilarious. Could you be any dumber?
You really shouldn't be scared of either team, and I doubt Ryan is. The Jets need to worry about themselves and what they need to do to get better moving forward. I know you all hate Belichik in here (obviously), but what he says is true. You can only concern yourself with what you control, and that's taking each game and preparing 100% for each opponent, and believing that if everyone does their job, success will follow. Even as a fan, I worry and get fired up each week for that game. The rematches and stuff come soon enough. BTW, I voted for the Pats.
Yes I could be as dumb as you are! Everyone that knows about rexy and his blitzes knows that they are sometimes gimmicks. He walks everyone up and has only one guy standing and all that stuff and hopes like hell it can hold up. Well it didn't work because we didn't come out in a bunch of "open sets" and they got the hell beat out of them all game because we didn't give them open lanes to run free. Now you can say it was a base 34 but they said on the nfl network and on espn that rexy had 4 down linemen and 4 linebackers and still couldn't stop our running game!! That is what the experts said and I saw it as well and that is why old rexy looked like he had a bad stomach ache all game!!! LOL
Yes because he stacked the box to protect against the run, I can see where you would think that's a "gimmick" And that zaney blitz disguising...man those guys are just WACK! Nice.
The obviously choice would be New England for who their team is composed of, but the way the Wildcat manipulated our Defense it makes you think twice..
