What angle is that? I didn't see anything lucky about Ted's TD catch at all. The Jets had 3 players chasing him, he still got open and Henne made an excellent throw to Ginn for a pedestrian type catch. Braylon's long catch had more of the luck element going IMO.
And where do you see denial, maybe a few posters. Try not to lump everyone into one group, it makes you look foolish. the Jets lost, game over....Bills in four days.
yet if we take a historical view and use it towards preset and future probabilities, I'd say that Edwards makes that catch more often than not. he's know for acrobatic catches. That's not luck. Ginn used his world class speed and capitalized on a mistake in the coverage and caught a pretty pedestrian NFL receiver catch. In terms of NFL catches, he was wide open. Again, I understand you guys are psyched that you beat a team that is crappy, by your own admission. Maybe Cramming Chowder was referencing his own fanbase when he mentioned OTA Championships. You guys are one of 15 week 5 champions. Call out all the rainbows on your parade.
Monday night was the Dolphins Super Bowl. The question is are the Jets going into fetal position like last year and talk a big game or are they going to shut up, strap it on and actually do something?
Just go away, hangout with your phin cronies.... Enjoy your bye week, you got the lucky draw of the Saints coming to you, and comeback Halloween weekend. You won we get it already.
I don't think that I am lumping all Jets fans into one group at all. There are several Jets fans that have a realistic view of the outcome of Monday's game. To those fans, you included if you are one, I compliment you. The problem is that so many of your fans have an unrealistic view of the same game. Miami is not an inferior team. The Wildcat is not a gimmick for us. Even if it is a gimmick, it is the responsibility of the Jets to stop it not Miami's job to shut it down simply because you don't like it. Read some of the posts of MANY of your fellow fans on this board. THEY are in denial. If the shoe fits, wear it. If it doesn't, get the correct size....
I don't think that there has been any gloating at all on my part. Well, maybe a little. What I was hoping to do is to have a reasonable exchange of opinions. What I am finding is that so many of the Jets fans are all too unreasonable....
I don't go back so i can talk to assholes like you to be honest. Finheaven is pretty tame but i like that you guys can let it all hang out over here. So you mentioned Henne being new and Ginn not having done much yet. Did you think to link those two together? Ginn will have his final judgement with the coming out of Henne. Ginn's production, or so his loyal fans say, was limited because Penningtons lack of arm strength. Now that Henne is in we get to see the if Ginn's speed can be utilized and he can overcome the BUST label. I'm not a huge fan of his, but he is fast and if he can be a deep threat that will open our run up even more.
I think they Jets have a good team......i won't deny that. I like the things you guys have in place. Hell if i could have Revis somehow, i would get him on our team. Same with Jenkins.
I don't think Jet fans are in denial, I think we believed and most still believe we are the better overall team. On Monday night Miami was the better team. You won this battle but in the end I believe we'll win the war. I knew your record wasn't a good indication of how good your team is, your schedule was front loaded with tough games. We didn't exactly have a cake walk either. I fully respect your team and what most of the players are doing, I just think our players our better at almost every position. Granted I have a biased opinion but I'm a freakin Jet fan, isn't that the point? I love being a Homer, but that doesn't make me stupid.
Johnny we should make an avatar bet on the next game. We win you wear a dolphins avatar on your proifile here. If you guys win, i will wear one over at Finheaven.
Granted I have a biased opinion but I'm a freakin Jet fan, isn't that the point? I love being a Homer, but that doesn't make me stupid.[/QUOTE] See this is why i like you guys......i like fans with a f-ing back bone. Bills fans seem hopeless.
There is no question that many Jets fans think Miami sucks and was the product of Chad Pennington and an easy schedule last year. What the Dolphins have shown this year is they can run the ball on anyone, they have as good a tandem of backs in Brown and Williams as any in the league. They also do a nice job of stopping the run. Miami is not one of the bottom feeding crappy NFL teams like St. Louis, Buffalo, Oakland, Tampa Bay and KC. Miami is a good not great NFL team that is capable of being in the 6 and 10 to 10 and 6 range. While lossing Pennington may lose them a game against an inferior team having a QB who can throw the ball makes them more dangerous although that doesn't always translate to more wins. The Jets on paper are more talented than Miami. Better recievers, TE although clearly Miami's run game is in a different class but the Jets have a big threat out of the backfield with Leon Washington. On D the Jets have the better personal against a league that has changed the rules to exploit the passing game. It's clear the Dolphins can be exploited over the top every team they face has done it except Buffalo. What Miami did to the Jets Monday night should be a wake up call to this team and the fan base. If it is I suspect we hold serve if it isn't this team could well end up with a 7 and 9 type of season and wholesale changes next year.
I would agree with you that Braylon has the talent to make a very high percentage of those types of catches. What I really meant by that play having more of the luck factor is the placement of the throw, getting both feet down inbounds, etc. Chances are if the same play is run again something would be slightly off and make it more difficult to have success. It's all purely speculation though. That fact is that he did make it and it was a wonderful throw & catch. Exactly! No luck there. He just beat three of the Jets defenders and made a catch that he should have made. Johnny, I don't think that you can find a comment from me anywhere stating that I feel the Jets are crappy. In fact, I challenge you find one! The Jets and the Dolphins have always been fierce rivals. Going into any game with your team, I am always hopeful that we will do well but I am never sure of the outcome until the final horn sounds.. C-H-A-N-N-I-N-G talks a little too much for my tastes but it was in response to the statements made by your coach, right? We don't need a parade. we one one game against a good opponent and there are 11 more games to be played. one of those 11 is in three weeks against you guys. In no way am overly excited about this recent win.
