We've all talked about how Edwards would open things up for the running game and Cotchery, but after seeing the Clown finally strike in a regular season game last night you have to wonder if we'll be seeing a lot more of him.

They almost have to single cover him with there 3rd CB with Edwards and Cotch on the field. Good luck with that. As shitty as the defense played last night, you have to be excited about what this offense could be evolving into.

Edwards should make this whole offense a legit threat.
You can't double them all and once Sanchez starts getting more comfortable WATCH OUT!

Clowney was always a legit threat. Why they don't give him more reps is what puzzles the chit out of me. I've seen nothing on the field that should keep him watching from the sidelines. He caught everything thrown his way.

He does. Edwards is a true #1 WR. In my eyes to earn this label you need to be talented to the point that opposing defenses consistently double or roll coverage towards you. Cotchery, though probably a more talented football player, lacks the speed and size to really draw that kind of attention. Edwards size, strength, and speed will draw attention away from his supporting cast. Cotchery will benefit the most, methinks, but I think you'll see the clown make an occasional impact too.

I was surprised when they had that rookie covering Edwards 1 on 1.

yeah, he is more likely to get matched up one on one where he can use his speed to get above the safeties

it's just up to the coaching staff to create those matchups with the right routes at the right time and for sanchez to recognize the single coverage when that happens ... sanchez obviously has the arm to get it over clowney's shoulder

He was double covered on that pass and maintained atleast two steps on the DB. Brought it in real nice, looked the pass all the way through like the announcers said. It's nice that he's showing the fundamentals. He's spending a lot of time with Sanchez and Shotty on the sidelines, and I even saw Edwards giving him a few tips. I've been saying all along that Clowney is a legit, all the while everybody calling him Mr. August. Will he get a lot of reps once J-Co is 100%? No, probably not. But he's definitely legit.

Mr. August just became Mr. October 12. Let's hope he becomes Mr. October.

Just curious, how does Edwards' speed compare to Clowney's?

if the jets go 3 wide with cotch, edwards, and the clown keller at te and leon in the backfield someone should be able to find a nice hole in the defense. edwards opens up a world of possibilities for this team. sanchez throws a beautiful deep ball too. please let this continue for the next 10+ years

If this doesnt spread out the defense and open up the run game nothing will. Mark could go from a game manager to lightin' up the scoreboard. Edwards and the Clown were both impressive. Maybe the defense wont have to carry so much of the burden down the road. Keep BS on the gadget plays and put the Clown in as the #3. We need to get this fine-tuned before the bye week.

Definately some positives in a Painful Loss

As I made my way through a gauntlet of dolfans acting like they won the superbowl and yelling the dumbest crap I ever heard, I knew I had seen what may be the Jets best chance at opening up the stagnant Offense in years. If Braylon keeps playing like this its gonna open up some downfield possibilities, then the running game, then.............???.
Sanchez looked nervous. Henne looked like a seasoned vet, though. :finssuck::finssuck::finssuck::finssuck:

Clowney, Edwards, and Keller are going to provide potential problems for the Bills.

They need to get Keller going in the pass game. He's been invisible the last 2 games. More intermediate throws should be available with the addition of B. Edwards.

    Edwards will help out everybody
If Schotty has a brain he should go with Clowney as the 3rd to add even more speed alongside Edwards and Cotchery.

This game made me think that Clowney is the best #3 option we have right now but I really like Brad Smith. He is a very versatile player which makes him very valuable.

I picked up Clowney in 2 fantasy leagues this week, and I'm going with him Sunday. From the Yahoo report on Brad Smith:

So who starts? Edwards, and...Clowney? Really? Hmmm...

    Its possible.

Sorry if this has been asked but what happens next season with Edwards and his contract situation? What if he wants too much $$$?

In all likelihood, next season goes uncapped and Edwards is an RFA.
