The fact that the Jets have had SO MANY horrific, disgusting, depressing losses over so many years, that it has completely desensitized our fans, and they actually believe that last night's game was an acceptable loss. It's one thing to lose to a better team like the Saints. It's another to give a game away to a pathetic team on it's last legs.
I'll tell you what.....if the Phins come up to the Meadowlands in a few weeks, and smack us in the mouth again.....that will be much worse than last night......much much worse, IMO. Rex has stopped the wildcat before....I believe he'll be better prepared next time.
Why? Because I find last night's effort unacceptable? Is that how you want this team to play every week?
No but I'm not here labeling them the SOJ or bitching about how the whole team sucks and never will win anything after an early season loss to a division rival.
We had our best offensive showing against a stout defense. The D didn't show up. The heat may have had something to do with it, but their effort was absolutely unacceptable. The difference is... We have a coach that is absolutely NOT going to accept that effort, at least that's what my gut tells me. The Saints game in their house was an acceptable loss, but this was not. However, I think much more than the Saints game, this was a smack in the face that the Jets D just might have needed. We are not going to win many games without sacking the QB. Henne is a big guy, and just shoving him around every now and then is not going to get the job done. Pressure is all well and good, but nothing fires up a defense like a sack, nothing.
Maybe its because they arent a pathetic team, maybe its because they are now a much better team without Penny (surprise surprise). Should we have beat them, I think so, but we didnt. Now its time to man up. And no loss is acceptable BTW, just some are worse than others. You have to take the positives and work on the negatives. That is all...... This week our defense got smacked in the mouth by two great running backs and fantastic blocking upfront. Actually as much as I dont like Trent Dilfer, he said it perfectly after the game. He said that our personnel on D isnt set up well to defend against the wildcat but against standard offenses we will shine and shut down the majority of them. I couldnt agree more,
Exactly my point! Well said! I hope you are right here, because he is part of the blame. It is one thing to be aggressive and Blitz. However, if you do it every single down, the suprise aspect is nill, and it just becomes another play.
The loss against the Saints is definitely acceptable. We were a brash, young team that put up a great fight against one of the elite in the NFL.
the effort wasn't unacceptable. they sure looked like they were playing hard. their defensive execution was horrible. big difference between the two. know what sucks about Jets fans -- they can't seem to tell the difference. I guess this team isn't going 15-1. how terrible.
Who the hell is accepting this loss?? It sucked monkey balls, and made me throw up in my mouth. What's different is, we will kill the Bills next week, and that's that. By the way, we're still in first.
am i the only giving thought to the possibility that we just watched the first game in a long series of classics between two young and tough teams? i know nobody wants to admit the dolphins could be for real, but i think it is a possibility.
Rex will have the team re-grouped by Sunday afternoon and I think he will have them totally pumped to give the Bills a good old fashioned ass kicking.
No but you said the Miami Dolphins team sucks and they were on their last legs. Have you been watching our games at all big guy? I know I have been watching the jets games and I can tell you they are for real. Now, can you be man enough and admit that the dolphins are better than their starting 0-3 record indicated? Show me the real jet fan inside you.
Let me get this straight: You were watching the JETS games, and because of that, you know the DOLPHINS are for real. Hard to argue with this logic.
Sort of. I meant to say that I've been watching the Jets games and I can tell the JETS are for real and I'm man enough to admit it.
On it's last legs? The Dolphins have the best running game in all of football and they were coming fresh off a 38-10 romp in week 4. Sometimes Jets fans really disappoint me. Look past the trees and at least try to see the freaking forest.
We lost to a decent team on the road where we played terribly, they played great and we still almost won. We saw Sanchez take a step forward, Edwards play great, the OL play better. This was not a disastrous loss.
