I don't know about you guys but I was all over this in the game thread. The Play where Edwards caught the bomb on 3rd & 22 was a TD. He Caught the ball, His knee/chin came down and then the ball broke the plain before the 2nd DB touched him. The ref said "his knee was down before he crossed the goal line" Yes his Knee was down but the 1st DB never touched him! IOW, he was NOT down by contact so his knee being down is only relevant to being in/out of bounds, which he was. THIS IS NOT WHY WE LOST. I'm just bringing up a point how something that gets overlooked may have still had a say in the outcome of the game. Probable? NO but it happened.
We scored on the next play. Does it really make any difference other than fantasy stats whether or not edwards scores a TD or not?
It saved Miami a timeout though and they probably would have had to kick that last play instead of running up the middle. At worst they try to pass.
Miami should been charged a timeout. That along with us still having 2 woulda definitely changed the final moments of the game. Like I said, I'm not saying this is why we lost just bringing up a point where the game could have changed the final moments of the game. and ftr, I do not have Edwards on either of my FFL teams
I don't know if the defender touched him or not before he broke the plane, but the call on the field was a TD and there was not conclusive evidence that it wasn't a TD so the call should've been upheld and Miami should've lost a TO. Does this make any difference in the game, I don't know that, probably not.
At lleast we ended up scoring a TD instead of a FG. That was a world class catch though, wasn't it. That is what I liked about it. It looks like Braylon came to us to play some ball.
You people are nuts. They reviewed the play and found conclusive evidence to overrule the play on the field. Can the umpire make a mistake? Yes. Did his ruling change the outcome of the game? Absolutely not. The Jets didn't stop the wildcat. It's as simple as that. If they did they would've won the game. Please stop bitching and whining about shit that has no effect on the outcome of the game.
You must have missed the fact that if they got it correct Miami would have been charged a timeout and probably kick the FG at the end instead of going for the TD.
You might have missed the fact that the Jets, even though they publicly claimed they could stop the wildcat, sat down and watched Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams destroy them.
Absolutely it was inconclusive at least! The part that the ref said his knee was down means he didn't understand the rule! Look, I understand the Hispanic thing and you want to get the guy in the game but he gotta know the fukin rule. So what his knee was down ! Did the ball cross before contact was made? YES Was there Enough evidence to overturn it? NO Should Miami had been charged a TO? ABSOLUTELY Is this why we lost? NO but it still had an affect on the rest of the game.
That 49 yard pass interference call was ticky tacky. The plays even out. Braylon actually should have caught that ball and was very lucky the refs threw a flag on that play.
Find the still that they showed on Tv it clearly shows his shin down and the Dolphins player knee on his helmet before the ball crossed the plane.
Nice dodge....we lost the game because the ref overrule a call and didn't charge the Lphins a timeout. You know how ridiculous that sounds? We lost because WE COULD NOT STOP THE WILDCAT. There was a point where we did, but in the 4th quarter we were schooled by a former coach, Dan Henning. Chucky was right, they neutralized our blitz. We're really going to find out if Rex can adjust to it. Because last night he didn't and we lost the game. Not because of a blown call. But because they kept personnel in that caused us to play honest and we did not answer the call. We lost.
OK, so How many times do I have to say that this is NOT why we lost for you to understand that? and to say it had no bearing on the outcome when MIAMI would have been charged a Time out and would have most likely kicked a FG instead?
If they don't have any timeouts at the end they kick the game tying FG and we're going to OT. Why is that so difficult for you to understand? I know we were outplayed and could not stop the wildcat. That doesn't change the fact that the end of the game would have been different if they called the TD play correctly.
