What about Keller and cotch? Even though we ran better, seems like we went a little to 1 dimensional in this game. But Braylon looked really good and Im excited but wow. Tough loss.
Cotchery was playing injured.. he could have been out there as more of a decoy than a legitimate top option
Ok but 3rd and short and we are looking to bomb it? Do we not have a great TE in Keller to check down it to?
I hope with Cotchery that it's not a mysterious weeks-long injury similar to Strickland and Sheppard, who are out seemingly forever with their problems.
Cotch was injured and we are not targeting Keller enough. I am glad to see Braylon play this good in his first game. He should have had that catch on the PI call. It wasn't easy and I wouldn't really call it a drop, but he got both hands to it. Sure enough he was going down but this is something he'd need to work on. If he catches that pass, this game would have sounded much better.
Schotty has to get keller involved early in each game. attack a seam at least once during a game come on guys. but Cotch was really a decoy today no big deal on his lack of production.
I noticed this as well. Eli did the same thing with Plaxico early, and sometimes later, in his career. Having that #1 WR is great for helping develop a young QB, but that QB has to be ready to take his game beyond that WR. Sanchez may or may not do this, but we'll have to wait and see. I'm not going to fault a rookie QB for zeroing in on his new offensive toy.
I think he will start to spread the ball around more once Cotchery heals from his injury. This is just a guess, but like i said earlier, it seemed like Cotchery was in there as a decoy tonight to spread the defense out. Sanchez has some chemistry with Cotch and once both are healthy I can see him spreading it around to the open guy. Now, about Keller, I think we do need to target Keller more down the field. However, how can we be sure Keller is even getting open on the routes he is running. Without going over game tape and reviewing every play it is impossible to know whether it is Keller's fault that he isn't getting the ball or if its the playcalling/Sanchez's
agreed...in tough situations (3rd and long) or when you need a big play, it's almost too easy to key in on a guy like Edwards. I'm not too worried about it since Sanchez is a really young rookie...if he's doing the same thing next year, I'll be a bit more worried
Cotch was hurt so he gets a break but i think we should stop making excuses for Keller, He just didn't show up i mean i really doubt Shotty left him out of the playbook he just wasn't open he got beat its simple. An Braylon looked like i thought he would the guys a player and will only get better as the season goes on.
I think so, but I also think that Sanchez did this because Cotch wasnt 100% and as someone else mentioned earlier, Cotch was merely a decoy. That is why you saw Clowney getting extended time as well. Im not gonna blame Sanchez. He took his chances on Edwards and had a chance to make a play on every chance.
