I'm still a fan but I work hard for what little spending money I have and I am not spending any money on anything Mets related until Omar is canned and we bring in reliable competent baseball people. I'd say we should all be proud of being proven correct, but that's like being proud of being correct when you predict the sun will rise in the east tomorrow. It is truly amazing how bad the Mets ownership is.
The sad part of this Mets team is I don't see any hope for at least 5 years. They'll try to throw money at the problem, they'll bring in a guy like Lackey and a guy like Bay and they'll still be fucking hopeless. I would say they should trade players to build up the most pathetic farm system in the league but they have no one to trade that can bring in a decent haul of prospects other then Santana.
Trade Beltran for anything. Keep Wright around, he's the type of player you need. Give Reyes a half-season audition, decide what to do at the deadline. So you are keeping Angel Pagan and Cory Sullivan and getting rid of Jeff Francouer? And you are getting rid of Feliciano, Niese and Pelfrey but keeping Lance Broadway, Elmer Dessens, Nelson Figuoria and Pat Misch? Delgado, Sheffield and Schneider are free agents so you cannot trade them.

Beltran is one of the best players on the team, and his contract is not bad. Beltran has been worth an average of 27 runs above replacement with his bat and 4 runs above average with his glove. He is at least a 3 WAR player, and is absolutely worth his contract. Beltran is one of the players in the league.
I agree with your general post, but I'd rather see Pagan play than Francoeur. I'd rather someone better than both, though.
ok dont agree with beltran at all, possibly best player on team. delgado is fa this year, no? as well as sheffield? no doubt about those two anyway. People talk about feliciano's trade value, but where are you gonna find a left hander as good as him out of the pen, im not sure i see the point in this. Is niese not a prospect anymore? I guess its worth a shot if someone sees something in him though. Im tempted to keep pelfrey because i could just envision him becoming stellar on another team but fuck it, clean house otherwise.
