Yeah I was there. It was loud, very loud. That "whodat" chant is annoying though, too many words, lol.
I thought the crowd was very loud, probably louder than our crowd was during the Titans game. Also, they do the same thing, plays on the field that go against the home team will take it out of them. It happens. The comments that Dierdumbass made about Sanchez with them piping crowd noise into the practice were pretty stupid. And LOL at the guy calling Dierdorf and Gumbel 'homer' announcers for the Jets. They had just gotten done bashing the NYJs the previous week against Tennessee during a win. Funny stuff.
I don't see anything wrong at all with fans of other teams posting here, as long as they aren't trolling or gloating, which they are not. You guys are welcome as far as I am concerned. Aside from the token handful of trolls we saw last week, Saints fans turned out to be some of the classier visiting fans we've seen in a while.
I'll tell you what...when it comes to home field advantage, if I were on the visiting team I would take the noise in the Dome over the lack of oxygen at Mile High any day. Unless of course I was a kicker.
Was it just me or did I see offensive players waiving their arms for the dome to get louder, as defensive players do? If so, sick.
I think it was just you. The players have took part in numerous articles in local papers and on radio conversations urging the fans to be quiet while the O is on the field. So I dont think the O's players would contribute to something like that, but I could be wrong.
You fucking serious baghead ? Theres been a shitload of guys who sign up for this board right before they play us talk what ever they gotta then once its done they are gone and for some strange reason you haven't left. I find it strange, an hey im not really knocking you specifically i've seen your post and you have been mad respectful and i was in a shitty mood and i was really going at some other uber douche saints fan who's a real dick. But hey if you wanna stick around for some reason please do. An me get a life ? You made an account just to troll around on another teams board too dickride your team thats pretty fucking gay.
Uh....what? That was one of the loudest crowds I've ever heard in all my years of attending any sporting events. Just seeing the Dome in the cab ride on Saturday was intimidating. Me and the wife got lulled into thinking there'd be a lot of Jet fans at the game because of the amount of Jets jerseys we saw throughout the Quarter on Saturday night and Sunday before the game. Once we walked out of the tunnel into our section: Holy Shit, we were outnumbered. To actually think we'd take over the dome at that single moment evaporated into thin air. I didn't see a Jets jersey in 3 or 4 sections on either side of us. Not an empty seat in the house and was it loud? ...uh, I'd say so, that noise doesn't go anywhere. It was fucking nuts to say the least. In the long run, I was unhappy with the loss but happy we didn't get embarrassed after it was 17-0. All-in-all, the Saints fans were fine, a lot of ball busting, but most of it was good natured. I just got back last night, so I'm sorry if this was already taken care of by Monday night. To anybody that was in Ryan's Pub on Decatur on Sat. night or Sunday afternoon, cheers!! That was a lot of fun to see us take over a bar while we were there.
I thought the Saints fans were plenty loud. There have been many times when it has been a somber Jets Stadium.
That is awesome that you guys took over Ryan's Pub....the guy must have been elated, especially during these economic times. It was smart business for the Ryan's Pub Jet fan owner to come to TGG, open an account, and tell the fans about his fun bar.
It wasn`t the owner of Ryan`s who got at least 3 web sites worth of JET Fans to showup there , it was T-Mac/JumbalayaJet /Tom that put this weekend together and we made sure we told every Jet Fan on Bourbon St. from Fri. afternoon to Sat. when we showed up at Ryan`s ,that this was going to be the place for JET fans in N.O.L.A., It was a great time down there meeting every JET fan that showed up in the "Big Easy"
Me and the wife had no idea. We were taking turns walking around Bourbon, Royal, Chartres, Decatur, etc. (we must have walked about 10 plus miles in 5 days there) on Saturday when we first got there, and stumbled upon approximately 60-75 Jet fans on the corner doing the J-E-T-S chant, and was like, uhhh, let's go in there. The Green Room was kind of dead. Got some beers and started bullshitting with a couple of fans and they said they were with Jets Insider. I told them I started posting on GG not to long ago, and a couple of shots/beers later we were eating oysters in Felix's before we knew it. Great time with those fans. Sunday was a good time, too, a few less fans there but still pretty packed. Drinking in public is fucking awesome. And Bloomberg's trying to ban smoking in the park, unbelievable. Oh not to forget, had a true New Orleans moment about 2 o'clock when a German parade went down Decatur with beads flying everywhere. Everybody comes running out of the bar (with their beers of course) catching the beads, chanting Deutchsland, yelling and whooping it up. We got some good pictures in front of that place.
Oooooops....my bad! Thanks for the correct scoop. I was thinking of Johnny C, who owns The Green Room, on Decatur Street.
Saintsreport.com had several threads about how awesome fun the Jets fans were. There is not another fun crazy party town on the planet, quite like the charm of historic New Orleans. Most of all, those folks appreciated every penny that you folks brought into their economy, while having a great time, no doubt.
