Edwards and Sanchez down, now all we need is Shaun Rogers and Joe Thomas and the process is complete.

Seems like a lot to give up for a guy thats only signed thru this season. Plus I don't see how now having a decent QB is gonna help him not drop the ball. Getting hit in the hands is getting hit in the hands. If it works out though it's obviously a brilliant move for you guys. You just better hope he signs a new deal or even a productive year (12 games in reality) isn't worth it. IMHO

dont sweat it bro, just sweat your dolphins. Jets will be fine.

HAHA, you all dont know what you got yourselves into. Last Sunday and let me remind you he didnt catch one ball the whole game he was caught talking to another player from Cinci inbetween plays about modeling and acting. Hes the closest thing to a prima donna as you can get. He's going to drop your qb rating quicker then he did Lebrons friend. SUCKERS.

Edwards can continue to drop balls at the rate he has in his career and he still brings to the table what our offense needs.

Defensive Coordinators and Cornerbacks won't be gameplanning for Edwards with the thought "well he drops alot of balls so we can single cover him". Braylon does exactly what our offense needs - he opens up running lanes and puts Cotchery back to his ideal role of being a fantastic #2 WR.

See, this is the stuff I fear. There is a reason that Cleveland would rather have Stuckey that Edwards. Don't forget that. This guy has not lived up to his potential in the least, except for one great season two years ago.

I guess all we can do now is sit back and hope that all hee needs is a change of scenery.

Crap shoot but look at it this way. Neither party is committed to the other past this season so its up to Edwards to play well in his "walk year". If he does play well, it complicates things with LW definetly especially without a CBA and/or CAP in place for '10.

One potential negative is that he's in the last year of his contract. Like others have said, it would be an EXPENSIVE 1 year rental........ especially with some others to resign :cough:Leon:cough:

He is a RFA though, we would get something in return if he doesn't sign here, and if he plays like he should that could be higher picks then we had to give up.

    I think it's a win/win either way.

you shouldnt be telling anyone how horrible their WR's are. look at your roster.

and the fact he didnt catch one pass last week ended a 63 or 66 game streak he had going. longer than chad has ever played without getting injured.

your going to be miserable monday. bank on it.

Well, Cleveland would rather have Stuckey than Edwards because Mangini is their head coach. And you can't say he's not lived up to his potential, just like you can't say he's guaranteed to put up Moss numbers year in year out here. But a change of scenery has done wonders for several players and as fans we can only hope it works out. I think it will, I think the Jets are becoming a first class organization, Rex knows how to get the best out of his players and there's no real bad apples on this team. Everybody on this team works hard day in and day out and on game day plays with passion and fire.

He may never be the player he was in 2007 but I like his chances of coming close

There needs to be a logical option, as in "Neither good nor bad, we won't know until he has played"

It's only true if 2010 is uncapped - if the league and the NFLPA reach an agreement on a new CBA, it will no doubt include a rookie pay scale, and the Jets will be able to use the millions of dollars they save on a rookie to extend Leon Washington and have money left over to slap the franchise tag on Braylon - if he's worth it.

The way I see it, Braylon Edwards obviously wanted out of Cleveland in the worst way. So he got his wish. Not only is he out, but he has gone to a good team with a realistic shot at being in the playoffs and he is in the spotlight of New York.

If he doesn't get his act together now, there is no where else to go. If he has any brains; he knows this.

Voted good because this fit a need, jets really needed a WR like this after not replacing Coles. But not great because we give up a lot.

This looks like another move to "won now," a la Dan Snyder, which could hurt us in the longer run. I think all the older FAs we signed 18 months ago put us in that mode, but still, dangerous road to keep going down with a rookie coach and QB. Has any team ever won it all with a rookie coach and QB?

just like the Favre deal it shows the front office cares about winning NOW, he has all world talent and if we get him to play up to his ability it's like the pats gettin randy moss(no he isn't as good as Moss but you get the idea ya know alot for a little) plus him being there makes us better, it frees up other people, keller cotchery sanchez, and if they take advantage of their new found openess, then braylon will get a chance to play stress free in a contract year. if that doesn't motivate you then I don't know what kind of deal will!

look, leon has a deal on the table and he needs to take it (i believe it's 5mil). he hasn't done shit this season to warrant more than that. he hasn't sniffed the end zone. just sayin....

sorry to get off topic, but i'm tired of this "sign leon crap" when he has a good offer on the table that he refuses to take.

This is quickly becoming the truth. He gambled and lost so far...the rest remains to be seen. He does play his heart out though.

yes, i love leon and i believe he is our best rb. however....players get paid on production and thus far he hasn't played well enough in my opinion to warrant more than the 5mil a year that is on the table.
