Yes, he does drugs. But again, he is much better than David Clowney or Brad Smith. This guy has messed up and I'm sure a downgrade to being a 3rd WR would fit him well. Hopefully this freak of talent has humbled up and would do well with this chance. Just a thought. Our management is obviously willing to take risk, why not inject some more talent at the position which we lack. Guy is 6'5" or 6'6" and runs like a 4.3, former first round pick. I know this isn't Madden, but he is definitely an upgrade over Clowney and Brad Smith (whom I have no hope for, btw..)
You're going to get killed for this, but I would be all for it. He'd be a major upgrade over Smith in the Seminole, and he has better hands than Smith.
No, thanks. He probably has a drug problem and there is a reason why no team has signed him. I said this during that draft and I'll say it again, he is not a natural receiver and he doesn't show any particular passion for football. He is not a very good receiver and he has a drug problem, I see no upside.
If he were "healthy" both mentally and physically, any team would be glad to have him. But he's obviously not, or else he'd be on an NFL roster. New York isn't the best place for him to be right now.
You're preaching to the choir. Warren Sapp had a drug problem too...how'd that turn out? Go get this fucker for cheap. THERE IS NO RISK.
I was totally down for this before the season started. I was big on the Matt Jones bandwagon then. Not anymore. There's a reason no one has signed him. I think it's a little unfair, but if teams thought he could play, I think he'd have a job. Plus, we already have one big headcase receiver trying to learn a brand new offense. We don't need 2. I'll miss Chansi though.
On the field he sounds good. Off the field not so good. Let's not start tinkering too much with the chemistry this team is building.
Haha. Sure. I just can't understand how a guy who was the best WR on his team, runs like a 4.3 can't get signed. There must be something the media isn't telling us. I hate to compare it to Mike Vick, but the guy just got out of jail and is already playing football. I'm confused. Brad Smith is quicker than Jones laterally so I doubt he'd be better in the Seminole, though.
He has had 2 workouts so far since training camps were on and nobody has signed him, so that's got to be telling.
who were the teams? Living in N. FL, I'll say NO to Jones....... talk about a guy that plays half assed.
We did....I miss him already...he was the one I was hoping he would break out back when we first got him.
yes, because Cocaine and Marijuana are comparable and have the same affect on a person's ability just because they are both classified as drugs. that's as ridiculous as saying that porno's are appropriate for children as Disney movies are because they are both classified as movies.
We've got an extra roster spot too now since we traded two players for one... hmm interesting. I also see no risk here.
Cocaine and Marijuana are two completely different drugs. Cocaine is a much more dangerous drug as it can lead to heart problems, overdose, and is highly addictive as well. I'm not saying MJ is okay, I hate the stuff personally, but don't call them comparable because they are most definitely NOT.
