You think Eric Mangini might hate Bill Belichik a little by now? He's made two trades with the Jets and both of them were aimed at the Patriot's dynasty. Sanchez gave the Jets the possibility of overtaking the Pats and now Edwards gives them a shot at finishing the job.

There's going to be more to this story down the road.

Possibly he still has a good relationship with Tannenbaum, or he stubbornly sticks to his "process" and want to prove he can win with "his" guys, or most likely it's a combination of the two.

You got to understand that this trade helps both teams not just the Jets, Mangini is looking to create his team the way he sees it, no distractions like Edwards, I feel that he just doesn't want to deal with that shit, but hey it's really nice of Mangini to give us Edwards haha

I think Mangini might feel guilty, and I'm glad he's overcompensating.

At the very least, the Browns just significantly upgraded their special teams and their slot receiver spot. So, kudos to Mangini on that.

He is just trying to get his Magenius moniker back with Jets fans and he is succeeding.

i still believe its is all a big plot. mangini was sent to another team to rid them of there top players and make one sided trades in our favor and when he gets fired he will come back and have a coaching job on this staff.

The fact is, Edwards made himself "not a Mangini guy" when he punched LeBron's friend.

We all saw what "being Mangini guys" does for your football team.

Mangini is not a good football coach.

The Browns trade some players and make some deals with the Jets and you all seem to think that one guy, the head coach, has the complete autonomy to do whatever he wants with the roster? I don't buy it. I know that these trades wheels are being greased by the friendship between Mangini and Tanny, but somehow I am sure that these moves have to be sold to a GM and or Owner.

I would say that if it helps stick it to Bill, then for Mangini it might be a nice perk, but probably not the ultimate goal in the end. With Edwards, the organization was probably just tired of dealing with the whole headache, and his latest incident that is being investigated probably broke the camels back.

Oh absolutely 100% The state of the GPC case is still out on verdict. I certainly hope GPC in 09' :gpc:

Nothing would make me happier than see the tide completely turn, and the Pats fans waiting 9 years to beat the Jets at their home.

The question is, do the Browns have any other good players worth trading for (stealing)?

George Kokinis and Mangini are good friends (sound familiar?) and they supposedly make trades in tandem. But like the moves the Jets made with Mangini and Tannenbaum it's pretty clear that Mangini is the weight in the room on roster decisions.

It was Mangini who took the hard line with Kendall and Baker and Tannenbaum who backed him up. Similarly I think Mangini probably was the one who decided to just get rid of Edwards.

Was he a Jets or Giants fan growing up? It seems like 10 years ago that I knew his favorite meal and color.

Going with the former, and thinking for myself - if I was ever in a position with an NFL franchise other than the Jets, I would still do things for the Jets' benefit as long as it didn't jeopardize my current team.
This actually makes sense. He is Italian after all, inventors of the 'vendetta'.

Breezing quickly through Browns boards, there seems to be consensus on this one in Cleveland. Seems Braylon has as much as announced that he's moving on at the end of the year; the Browns are going nowhere in 2009; and Braylon has done jack in four games. They all seem thrilled to see him leave in return for value.

I was thinking the same thing. Amazing how strong Mangini's hatred of Belichick is. Like...dare I say it....scorned lovers? Perhaps?
