    this is a bs trade

we gave up way too much

stuckey was quietley establishing himself as a solid #2 reciever

and 3rd and 5th rd picks are pretty valueable

plus we have to give him an extension

i would have offered a third or stuckey and a 5th but thats it

Hey guys didn't we give up a 3rd and 5th for Lito this year?

    Yawn.

Look, I'm bitter too about the Mets season. But, lets not let it spill over onto a great thing.

Bet you were mad when we moved up for Revis too.

I believe the deal was a 5th last year and a conditional pick this year which could be up to a 2nd. Since he's already missed two games, I think it'll be a 4th or a 5th this year, though I admit I don't know for sure.

    Daily News-

"he Jets surrendered two draft picks for Sheppard - a fifth-round choice in the upcoming draft and a conditional pick in 2010 that could go as high as a second-rounder or as low as a fourth, depending largely on playing time"

    Missed the draft picks.

Not a whole lot to pay if it works out, but yes, an expensive one year rental if it doesn't. He'll be a RFA, so I don't see any advantage in taking the risk of signing him to the big money payday that he wants without him proving he can be the guy Cleveland drafted at #3 overall. If I'm Tanny, it's a wait and see. Worst case, I think we can recoup the picks, maybe even get a 2 for him.

I can't see that even being more than a game or two tops. If anything.

I think the bottom line and even everyone is pointing out the negatives, is this is a potentially high reward move. Contrary to the Jets of yesteryear, they're going for the gusto.

No it doesn't. It's all risk and no reward. See my last post for an explanation.

I am pretty sure he is RFA so he isn't going anywhere after this year.

Ok so what you are referring to is the tender. Jets put in a good tender offer next year and at the least get the picks back if he gets signed elsewhere?

Really - I think I like him being motivated with the opportunity he has on a better offense to light it up and THEN get paid....

    Per adam schefter's twitter:

could be a problem if lito and braylon hit their conditions this year, but will probably be unlikely.

Edwards Scissorhands ...the guy has a tough time catching the ball, but its a confidence and mental thing. He better get his shit together here...Or the vets on this team will tear his ass a new one
