Because he's a good player and would be great in the slot with Cotch and Edwards. That's not difficult to understand
I agree. These are probably the same people who didnt want the Jets to make a move for Cutler or Sanchez because they really wanted to see Clemens and Ratliff get the chance. Some people just are comfortable with mediocrity, i guess.
Stuckey has been terrible this year, I'm much more concerned about the picks and Trusnick than I am Stuckey.
If people could read and have an understanding of why/how Stuckey could still have an important role then there wouldn't be any issues
SO IN 07 THOSE 80 RECEPTIONS WHERE ON ACCIDENT???? 21 CATCHES OF 20 PLUS YARDS 4 CATCHES OF 40 PLUS YARDS OF HIS 10 CATCHES THIS YEAR 2 OF THEM ARE FOR 20 OR MORE...... NOW CAN STUCKEY DO THAT???
Guys, Players wont come to a team w/ Bart Scott on it and not give 100% effort. Barts the type of player that wont have it. Braylon was a probowl player and w/ a change of scenery and a kick in the ass from Rex Ryan, he will be a major asset for you guys. Im so excited he will be on yall team when yall play ATL. ATL fans will be bitchn that its another break the Saints got since we didnt have to face Edwards. LOL
No Doubt that Edwards is going to make our O better but giving up 2 decent players and 2 Draft picks = 4 players for 1. IMO, that sounds like alot for a receiver who pretty much had only 1-1000+ yard season in his career....
Randall Gay mauled Stuckey on Sunday and it's obvious we needed an upgrade. I thought he would have been a lot better as a #3 and would have liked to have kept him for that but you can't have it all. This is a huge upgrade.
I just wish we could have sacrificed someone else. Stuckey would have been great playing in the slot.
JET WEBSITE: Trusnik, Stuckey, Draft PICKS... "The Jets announced this morning that they have reached an agreement in principle to acquire Browns WR Braylon Edwards in exchange for WR Chansi Stuckey, LB Jason Trusnik and undisclosed draft choices. More to Come?" Makes total sense--both ways. Mangini brings in guys loyal to him and gets draft picks. People should not fall in love with the 3rd WR on their team. Stuckey is ok -43 catches and 4 tds in one plus seasons. Not bad. Certainly when you consider him straight for edwards its a no-brainer -- even add in a good special teamer -- and its still a great trade. (BTW: trades make sense -- even if they dont work out in the end. Unless the Jets gave up a 1st rounder -- I think this is a great trade).
Except Edwards couldn't be here along with Stuckey. So you say, "oh well, moving on, I'm sure we'll find another slot WR at some point." In the meantime, we have Braylon, Cotch, and Keller as receiving threats; that should feel good, not sting.
Droppers can be always be coached up. And maybe now that he's out of Cleveland he'll actually concentrate on playing football.
