Even if he didn't know he doesn't call the plays and it's not like they aren't talking to him through the headset. Blame it on the coaches "if" that's the case.
He's an above average QB. just because the Cowboys paid him like a superstar doesn't change that. no surprise here.
For people saying the coaches call the play, of course they do, but there are 5 routes on that play, he chose to go to hurd against champ, the question is did he do it thinking he had another down if it failed, and in so doing didn't check his other options if so it's a huge mistake.
Drew Brees called a timeout the Saints didn't have on Sunday and backed them up 5 yards, on 3rd and 10. It happens.
i tell my friend whos a cowboys fan that Jason Garrett needs to stop playing madden. they either spread the field and look for a TD on every play or line up two backs in the backfield and telegraph a run. Romo has too much confidence in his arm and when your telling your recievers to run intermediate to deep routes over half the time he will force these dumb throws. they need more short passes to setup their run game. I'm not a Romo apologist either, but I think Garett is trying to get a good resume by racking up stats and Romo cant win games with his arm most of the time if he has such bad decision making when throwing into deep zones.
I feel for Romo. He's no Brady or Manning, but he's clearly one of the better QBs in the league.. but the Cowboys are a mess. They have enough talent to keep them respectable but bad playcalling, bad coaching, and bad leadership decisions are killing them. I have a feeling the public opinion of Romo is going to continue to take a beating as long as he stays the qb in big D.
They are just a completely different team without T.O. Even with the drops, even with all the drama, T.O. opened up the field for the rest of the offense. It would have been one thing if they had a plan. Look at the Giants. They lost Plaxico, but it seems they were ready for it. Smith was ready to bust out, Manningham was coming off an injury and they drafted Nicks. Difference between good management and bad management. Dallas plan was that Roy Williams would step up and fill T.O.'s shoes, but he's not that dependable himself.
Wade Phillips inherited a team filled with great Parcells-acquired and developed talent and hasn't done shit with it.
