Sunshiners and darksiders alike, we've been here through thick and thin. Does a little success and Jets fans coming out of the woodwork annoy you, or is it a good thing?
as long as they don't act like they've been here for decades and know what its like to suffer though shitty coaching and bad breaks. they can just show up and cheer loud. That's fine. This fan base has been pretty strong in terms of numbers and they always sold out the stadium. Its different from a culture the Pats because no one was a pats fan in NE and all of the sudden the whole northeast loves that team. Its a crock of shit. they wanna jump on - go ahead, but don't get in my way.
Speaking of cheering loudly... (I didn't feel like starting a new thread for this) ...did anybody get a letter and a Jets hat from Woody yesterday thanking the fans for being loud for the Patriots game?
I agree as long as they dont act as if they've been through the rough patches it is what it is they can celebrate with us, but something tells me they are to busy hanging on the the Giants nutsacks to jump on anytime soon
^ ^ ^ Wow. I don't own tickets, so no - but i'm actually surprised that the ownership reached out in such a manner. I would have never have seen that coming. Little things count, and with PSLs its a nice gesture. Hopefully little rewarding incentives such as those will make people want to continue to be loud. I'd like to have a lot of pride in home field advantage. I can't really say i've ever been proud of my fellow Jets fans ever. But in the last two home games they've done well. I believe 4 Delay of Games were caused by them.
I hate bandwagon fans from other teams and tend to lump the entire fanbase into that category when they start to pop up. I don't want to be labeled a bandwagon fan, so no, fuck them. Go root for someone else if you're just here for the good times. I doubt you see any bandwagoners at this point though. Maybe if we win 12+ games.
The all-green slouchy-looking hat that adjusts in the back (not velcro, but an adjuster). I was hoping that it would at least be one of those sideline hats, or the Draft hat, but it wasn't. I didn't bring the letter in to work with me, but it practically stated from the moment they hired Ryan, they knew he would take the team somewhere. Rex wants the fans to create an atmosphere that's unbearable to our opponents so we need to get loud at the stadium. Oh, and by the way, here's a free hat for doing just that against the Patriots. I thought it was pretty cool. It's not a game ball, but I'll take a hat.
Bandwagon fans are a fact of sports. Dislike them or hate them, they're going to be there. Nothing you can do about it.
i say tell em to hop off. we have and have always had a relatively strong fan base, even through the worst of times. dont get me wrong i enjoy the fact that i dont get laughed at or told im sorry when i say im a jet fan, but i just dont like the ones that act like they bleed green when two years ago they probably never even watched a jet game from start to finish
I'm willing to deal with the bandwagon fans. Just the fact that we have something going that others would want to jump on is enough for me to not worry about them.
What the crap, I better get mine!! If I were Woody I'd have a very different signature then him. With a name like Woody Johnson you'd have so many options.
As long as they know their place and spent lots of money then i dont really care. But if someone ever calls me a bandwagon fan because of what their doing, theres gonna be some problems lol
