If you dont know already Jim Brown interviewed Adrian Peterson and during the course of the interview Jim asked Adrian Peterson about LaDainian Tomlinson. Basically he asked who is a better back etc ie stirring the pot. Of course Adrian Peterson didnt hesitate to say he is better then LT and that LT Pussy foots thru the holes.. LT didnt take to kind to it and basically dedicated this season to all his hater.

That being said it looks like Adrian Peterson is winning the battle no LT is out for next weeks game and when he was in the game he was hurt and was on the sideline most of the game... So who would you say is a better back? I cant decide there both good to me..

AP is pretty much just entering the prime of his career while LT is in the twilight of his. It's kind of weak to just outright say he's better with no respect, but he's right.

Obviously Peterson is the better RB today, LT's best days are behind him.

But ill still take LT in his prime over Peterson now.

If the question is whether Adrian Peterson will ever be as good as LaDainian Tomlinson was at his best, this might be a question. If it is who is better now, it is not - Peterson is overwhelmingly better than Tomlinson at this point in their careers.

I never understood ranking football players based on rings. This isn't basketball. A running back can't carry his team to a super bowl.

A comparison can't be made yet IMO. AP is entering his prime while LT is about finished. I can see AP being one of the best ever when all is said and done. He's got the size and speed.

All things being equal there is no way you can compare the two. For 6-7 years LT was the gold standard for RB's. AP is just entering that portion of greatness. We shall see if he has that type of durability.

While he isn't the pure runner that AP is, there are not too many backs in NFL history that could receive as well as LT, maybe 2 or 3 at most.

Beh that trash talk was fucking stupid! Besides they are 2 completely different backs.

I think the weird thing is that no matter how durable you think a guy is, when a RB reaches his 30's you are playing with fire.

No, a running back can't carry his team through the playoffs, you are correct. But great ones should be able to help shoulder the burden, at least. Tomlinson has been a Charger for six playoff games. He's averaged about 50 yards and less than a touchdown for those games. Those are A-Rod numbers, in terms of anti-clutch.

Ask Tom Brady... I think you're spot on with this. If he keeps being a cocky SOB, somebody is going to hit him and make it hurt. Secondly, I would take a healthy LT in his prime over AP anyday, and I hope people let this be known to AP. He's still got years to prove me wrong though. To say you're better than an ailing athlete who was much better than you in his prime is pure arrogance. This is what I hate about cocky young players. Similar to when Cutler called out Favre last year and said he's a better QB than Brett.... No shit! Brett's old, and his best years are behind him. Sure you can throw the ball harder and further now young gun, but you could be Favre's ball boy in his prime, so STFU!

Tomlinson was as great as any back in league history a few years ago but he's clearly lost a step now.

Dude come on, are you serious? AD didn't insult LT AT ALL. In fact he mentioned he looks up to him and respects him... Here's the part of the interview that he talks about LT:

    Taken from: Here

AD is not an asshole and is extremely down to earth for someone who might be the best player in the NFL IMHO. He was just being honest about what he thought about LT. LT is the one who proclaimed himself the best back in the NFL:

Adrian Peterson may be considered the best RB of all time when all is said and done.

AP said if you read the entire article... He doesnt think LT is a Great Down Hill Runner.. Which he in turn took it as pussy footing through the hole in other words.. Basically saying that he doesnt make his pay check running in between the tackles and thats straight from LT's Mouth....
