This is a very interesting prognistication, Gordon, and it may very well happen. It wouldn't surprise me.

    Fuck Woody Johnson.

This thread is full of speculation that are built off hate for these PSLs... we all hate these PSLs but we have to be realistic. The longer these upper deck seats stays the better the PSLs are selling. From what it looks like, upper deck seats will be done very soon(maybe the very bad ones will stay for a bit longer).

PSL seats are doing much better then what you guys want to believe. Most of the mid-low row seats in all sections Mezz and Lower are all gone. Some of the 15k PSL sections are done completely. The cheaper PSLs in the Mezz are selling really well. The Jets are doing fine. Will they sell out? Maybe. Maybe not. Worse case... bad last row seats in PSL sections. And the club seats.

-From what I gathered from this thread and from "the other site".

If the Jets are up to 1998 seniority we can all agree they have to be 75% done? If people are still getting mez A seats that tells us that they aren't halfway sold out there and 3/4 thru the season ticket list. Don't really know about the $5k end zones but I've heard there are seats there. Maybe some $15k PSL sections are full but there are not many of them. I hope the stadium fills up I want a packed house. However, I'd like to see PSLs fail and Woody stuck selling the tickets on ticketmaster so we get rowdy fans in there.

From what I've been told the end zones have 21 rows BUT they start at row 5.

Actually I think PSLs are a great idea, it's the ticket prices that are completely out of whack.

Because they're a clever way to finance a new stadium, and as a buyer they can be an asset that gains value over time like real estate. Look at the Bears PSLs for the Renovated Soldier Field, people have been making good money when they sold out. Also, if you can put together the money for them, you get an "in" for better seats. But when it's a license to lose money because of overpriced seats, the value goes out the window

I got my date. Oct 6th. My priority is 1998 or 2008 depending on who you believe. Should be interesting...and the form email still says there are uppers left even with that LATE priority.

Called up on wednesday afternoon and spoke to a ticket rep. I was originally told to expect a call on OCT 2 but now im being told to expect the call on OCT 1 which is fine with me. I then asked what are my chances of getting uppers and was told that i might have a chance at upper corners. 8 more days to go..........

    PSL is a Depreciating Asset

YES!!! remember fellows this is a time share arrangement at best. Lets say you buy a PSL seat for $3,000 it is only for the life of the stadium which is 30 years. Therefore, in the secondary market the PSL seat falls in value $100 dollars a year. 30 years down the road when they tear down stadium you have to buy a new one.

Plus also remember in each section, lets say the 5k section, the Jets picked 5k as that is the average value of seats in that sections. Therefore, the best 1/3 of seats in the 5K section are worth more than 5K, the middle 1/3 is worth 5k an the bottom 1/3 is worth less than 5k. If you buy the last and crappiest 5K seat in a section you have lost money on day one and you still have a depriciating asset.

I don't think you clearly break down a section into best 1/3 , worst 1/3 etc. What some people like bottom row , sun etc.. others don't back row , shade. It all comes down to demand , if the Jets turn into a sustainable winning franchise demand will go up for all sections of seats. If they continue following their recent history then yes ticket demand and thus PSL demand will fall.

    Yes 1/3 works

I get what you are saying fan's have preferences. But from a financial viewpoint that is irrelevant. Take the Jets on Stubhub. I personally own four front row sideliene season tickets. Two are front row sideline and Two are front row Mezz. My front row sideline tickets are 105 and front row mezz are 115. Lots of people would rather sit in my Mezz seats as you get a great overall view of game. However, if I can make it to a game and I sell on Stubhub 100% of time I make a profit on my front row sideline seats and I am lucky to break even on my Mezz seats. Which is the better investment? Hands down my front row mezz seats. Heck I know some guy who likes last row Mezz as he stands all game and likes no one complaining and he is able to jump rail and get beer or go to bathroom quick. In secondary market my front row mezz tickets go for more on stub hub. The guy in row 11 mezz is guaranteed to be taking a loss every time he can't make a game.

This is what's bizarre...a friend of mine has had season tickets for 2 years (TWO YEARS!!), and will be getting a call on Friday. And they still have upper deck corners (very high rows) available. I'm shocked that 27,000 seats in the upper deck are not gone by now. I really don't know what to make of this, but I can't imagine sales are going well when they offer 2yr seniorty STH's free PSLs.

    Jets

Thank you for being a loyal Jets season ticket holder! We appreciate your patience during the 2010 New Jets Stadium seat relocation process. You will be contacted by a Stadium Sales Specialist dedicated to your account so that you may select your seats in the new stadium on:

    October 6

Below are important things to remember regarding your move into the new building:

    1) Seniority - all non-club seats will be offered in order of season ticket holder seniority. Both PSL and non-PSL seats will be offered to you (based on availability).
    2) Seating Options - when you are contacted by your Jets Stadium Specialist, you will be able to select your actual seat locations from our inventory.
    3) Payment Choices ? 5 and 15 year payment options are available for all PSL purchases.

Also, please remember that there is a $500 per seat deposit required for all non-PSL tickets in the new stadium. This deposit will be applied towards your 2010 season ticket invoice. Since all non-PSL seats will be offered based on seniority, it is important to know that you are committed to purchasing your seats and the deposit demonstrates that intent. A 20% deposit is still required on all PSL seat license purchases.
For more information please visit www.newjetsstadium.com or direct any questions to your Jets Stadium Specialist when they contact you on October 6. The seating chart will be a very helpful tool for you when deciding what seating option is best for you. We look forward to working with you to secure the best possible seat locations in the New Jets Stadium and again, thank you for your patience.

It's possible each rep has a list of STHs by seniority and some of them have gone through the list to 2009 faster than others

If you guys were put in Woody's shoes what would you do? I'll be willing to bet that you'll do the same or even worse with these PSLs than Woody. Woody had a group of financial advisers that told him what prices were the most marketable and that would bring in the most profit. These are the PSLs they came up with by highly intelligent experts, that the chances are that they will sell out and bring in the most money for the stadium and Woody.

If anyone here thinks if they were in Woody's shoes and wouldn't do something like this, they are crazy. This is America("American Greed"), and if you don't like it, there are still tons of hunting and gathering societies left for you to join where everyone gets equal share.

Kraft was in Woody's shoes, and he's kinda closer to being a guy like Woody than "We" are, wouldn't you say? He went and built his own stadium with his own money and did not charge PSLs. He did a good thing for longtime season ticket holders.

Patriots have the highest ticket prices in the league though. I would rather have PSLs and lower ticket prices, which is not happening with the Jets. Worst of both worlds
