I think his point is that you bringing up a year old thread is fucking ridiculous.

So Favre didn't pan out, BFD, get over yourself.

So your saying, after watching the majesty that was Chad leading the 2 minuite drill last night, that you would rahter have had him last year?

Honestly now the full story has panned out.

Mangini is a shitty coach, he had the infrastructure of a great defense, he just couldn't get the players to play for him.

The front office forced Favre to play when he was injured...clearly after his arm was injured his performance was night and day.

Everyone knew Favre wanted to play in Minnesota, is it worse that Favre abandoned the Jets, a team he had no allegiance to, or that he went to play for the Vikings, his archrival for 17 years?

I can't be offended by Favre, because he shows no character to any team.

Some of you guys hate for Pennington clouds that crystal ball you call a skull from thinking straight. Pennington looked pretty good last night against the Colts, and if Ted Ginn could fucking catch, they would have beat the Colts.

In hindsight, we'd have been better off with a healthy Chad, than Favre with his broke-dick arm last year. I always said grabbing Favre for Pennington was a great move, extremely risky, but good trade, but you never know how its going to turn out in the end. If we had kept Chad instead, I'm not sure we would have ended up with Sanchez though. Sometimes things happen as they should.

As for last night, Chad did what he needed to do, got in striking range and threw the pass to his WR who consequently has an issue holding on to ball. I don't know how you can blame Chad for not winning last night.

Wow..who really cares? The Jets haven't won anything in 40 years and still there are arguments about Favre vs. Pennington? Give it up.

Favre used the Jets as a host, much like a parasite, to get what he really wanted. I hope he snaps his triceps and it starts flapping against his jugular.

If we have Chad and kellen, do we trade up for Sanche this year? I don't think so and that would have been very bad. I'm not much for trying to rewrite history. It happened and so far over all its worked in our favor. Chad can not get over the hump against a top dfense. Farve looked great till the injury. Now we have Sanchez. Good for us.

My point was more about Royal bringing up the post about Favre. Its easy now to forget that we were 8-3 and looked great before he tore his Bicep. Now we know the staff knew about it and played him anyway. The collapse is as much on the coaching staff as it is him last season.

I don't disagree with this at all... hindsight is pretty clear on this now I think and that is why I said it all worked out as it should.

Of course they knew.. and Favre knew. I file this under "shit happens". It's easy to point fingers and blame folks, but in the end it was just bad luck. Hurt star players often want to continue to play (and I don't believe Favre if he says he didn't), and coaching staffs usually let it happen. When the other option is Clemens it really isn't much of a choice.

More like he didn't have Rex's system or just didn't know the meaning of the words "AGGRESSIVENESS" and "BLITZ".

Correction, FAVRE forced the front office to let him play 'cause he was Brett Favre and he had the office kissing his Wrangler-wearing ass(I hate that commercial) just so he can keep his pathetic Cal-Ripken-Jr.-style starting streak intact.

We all knew that he preferred Minny but let's face it. Had he not torn his bicep tendon, We might still be here with him as QB talking about getting BACK into the playoffs as opposed to still trying to get in.

I can be offended by Favre, however. Just look at that stupid Wrangler-Jeans commercial he does with the "Bad-to-the-bone" soundtrack which is sooo 80's.

I think people around here know how much I defend Chad but as long as Sanchez turns out to be for real(so far, so good) then the favre trade(as awful as it was) will turn out to be a great one b/c it will basically have indirectly gotten us rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez.

I am not trying to bump this but I would like to say that I really would sign right now if I didn't have to see another Brett Favre thread on the 1st page of the Jets Forum ever again.

No he didn't. I can't subscribe to Jet fan conspiracy theory/lore. I will defer to the NFL and the NFL fined the Jets for not placing Favre on the injury list and Woody Johnson accepted responsiblity. So, in my eyes, it was the Jets fault.

I'm not trying to be a Favre apologist b/c I think what he's done is clownish, but just saying there are facts that are undeniable.

I personally think this thread should serve as a reminder for us not to get too overly excited right now, like we were last year in this thread, because this is the NFL, and anything can happen (especially to the Jets).

No, man. Here is what's "undeniable". The Jets front office got PLAYED, period.

And amidst all the on-field success, we're having a disaster-in-the-making off of it.

You and i will never see eye to eye on him and thats ok. Agree to disagree. :)

I do like that you say the way things are tourning our look great for us and I can not agree more. The events of the past three season, those beign mangini's tenure, have lead to this point. He had a lot to do with the development and drafting of the young core we have now and I will not look down on him for that.

That said Rex was the fresh breth of air this team needed and we are looking great so far. Lets hope this continues.
