There it is boys: The game you have all been waiting for: Favre finally became one of the biggest factors of winning a very important football game, and doing so on the road, and having to lead, single handidly (the run game was stuffed hardcore) the game winning OT FG drive. What impressed me most wasn't even the 3rd and 15, but hte play that put them in solid fg position. He rolls out right to buy more time, throws across his body all arm back to the middle of the field to a wide open Coles. Vintage. The last two drives of the game were vintage Favre. The first half was Vintage favre. Second half? I understand people were happy favre settled for sacks and throw aways in a sense, but doing so also allowed NE back in the game. Just a horrible second half gameplan. Seriously, you think Mangini would learn sitting on the lead doesn't work.
Dude, ease up a bit. Just because Brady isn't playing doesn't mean those WRs are less talented. They're a dangerous group of receivers that were putting up these type of numbers all of last season. The important thing is that the Pats put up the yards but not the points. 500 yards of offense last year usually equated to 40+ points.
Absolutely....that was a great play. Brett's actually a very very good playmaker if you roll him out. Sometimes keeping him in the pocket a lot is like putting limitations on his game.
In the first half, our coaching staff gets an A-. The 2nd half gets an F. Fuck this prevent shit. If it aint broke, dont fix it....
Also, favre doesn't set or even attempt to set his feet at all on those roll out throws. That throw is pure arm and shows that the old man still has some gas left in the tank. (of course back in his young days I remember him rolling to his left, and throwing all the way to the right side of the field to Sterling Sharpe who was 40 yards downfield, officially that throw was a 40 yard TD, unofficially the ball travelled over 60 yards in the air and was a perfect strike)
Well put. This does not need to be either/or ... it seems like so many here need to make it that way for emotional reasons though ...
Who gives a shit about division champs, with Favre I expect that. The year after the Ravens won the SB Ray Lewis challenged Favre to prove himself against a real D and Favre had his way with them and just shredded all night long.
Yes, honorable mention to Dustin Keller too. But Brett, even with all the smug looks on the sidelines, got his team to rally with him. This is the most important aspect of what Brett does. He can rally a team, get them excited, keep them excited, then he can drop a 50 yd bomb on the opposing team.
Every time Brett lines up behind center I have believe that he can make something special happen ... He has instilled confidence in this team that Chad never did
Smug look on the sidelines? I guess I missed that. Personally I can't remember many games that he looked as serious and somber.
oh to choke down the stretch and then bail on his team or maybe he was just fake? So much for expecting Farve to take us to the promise land huh?
I wasn't making a point, just doing a little retrospect.... And who are you to decide this? Are you the one thread is enough police on deh internetz forumbusters?
Ask any dolfag fan. If he doesn't agree after today's game, he hasn't had enough frustrating games from Pennington just yet.
