The best thing about playing the Patriots early this year is the Rex will unleash a new set of schemes on them before they can watch tape on us. If the crowd gets into it, and Schotty keeps making the right calls at the right time, and the D unveils a bunch of new schemes this week, we stand a good chance.
ellis will be back.that shouldhelp on pressure.i'd put revis on welker.moss is effective deep but there shouldn't be enough time for deep throws with the pressure rex brings.imo
Revis should cover Welker, Moss will only be a problem if our rush cannot reach Brady which we cannot play like that. I believe we will put Lito Shep and some safety help to double cover Randy Moss.
I'm actually more concerned about Sanchez vs. Bellichick than I am Brady vs. our D.Rex will find a way to keep Brady frustrated. Namely guys named Jenkins and Revis
Possibly, I didn't really notice him other than the forced fumble but I was watching the insane blitzing.
He got more time then people thought in Week 1, he just didn't allow one catch so he wasn't noticeable.
Belicheat doesn't have the personnel from the old days to call the shots anymore. This defense is so bad that any aggressive moves could prove costly. No more Bruschi, Harrison, Vrabel, Seymour or Seau. He only chance was Mayo and Adalius Thomas to confuse Sanchez. Now with Mayo gone Thomas has his work cut out for him. And who knows him better then Belicheat? How about they guy that brought him into the league? All that is going to be asked of Mark is to protect the ball, maybe put it up 15 times while letting Leon Washington and Thomas Jones run all over these guys while playing stout defense. It worked last year for the Ravens and Flacco and I am sure Rex is looking to do the same thing with the Jets and Sanchez.
Brady has often said his favorite receiver is the one that's open. With the Jet's blitzing and double covering Moss, someone will be open. If Brady is on, Jets will need to score 30+ to win. I'm not saying they can't, I'm just saying they are going to have to. The Pats may even go 2 minute drill right from the start to get Jenkins huffing and puffing early. I think the Jet's are biting off a little more than they can chew this weekend. Pats 34 Jets 26
I see your point. But I have to believe the Patriots will be running a lot of the plays from '07. The same year where they completely destroyed everyone offensively. I'm sure they'll add a few new wrinkles here and there, but there's no reason to scrap that playbook if it was so successful. On D, the Jets aren't using the same defensive playbook from last year. I was talking to a friend of mine how this would be a good move for the Patriots to run right off the gate. The only thing I can say to that is, I hope Rex is preparing for that scenario. Hopefully, the crowd can make it so loud that the receivers won't be able to hear a Brady audible, causing him to call a TO. Or, we may have to use one of ours early to stop that drive.
This from the fan of the team that used roids before any other team and snuck in at least 2 dirty championships.
this is a different team entirely this year especially on defense. well see what happens, im confident
At times, yes. But Revis went up against him in man coverage a good amount in the second game and even picked Brady off while manned up against Moss.
