This has got to be one of the most anticipated Jets game that I can remember .. I love it .. Should be a barn burner Sunday ..

    http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/extra_points/2009/09/rhodes_wants_to.html

The bulletin board material continues to come fast and furious from Florham Park, N.J., home of the New York Jets.

Jets safety Kerry Rhodes told Gary Myers of the New York Daily News that the Jets not only want to beat the Patriots on Sunday they want to "embarrass" them and send a message.

    Rhodes said enough is enough.

?Not just go out there and try to win, try to embarrass them," said Rhodes. "Try to make them feel bad when they leave here. We don?t want to just beat them. We want to send a message to them, ?We?re not backing down from you and we expect to win this game, and it?s not going to be luck, it?s not going to be a mistake.? ?
It was pointed out that not too many teams have been able to "embarrass" the Patriots. Rhodes didn't back down.

?If we do what we are supposed to do and don?t make any mistakes, we can,? Rhodes said. ?Not too many have. We can.?
Rhodes also said the Jets will hit Patriots QB Tom Brady more than six times on Sunday.

?Any quarterback can be rattled,? Rhodes said. ?He?s one of the best, don?t get me wrong. That?s evident. Any quarterback, Peyton Manning, even if you get in his face, if you rattle the quarterback, you get pressure on the quarterback, any quarterback it is, he?s not going to be the same. Nobody. That?s not to say he?s not going to come back and make a play after.?

Oh Goodness, the Jets better find a way to win to back up all this talk. I love the fire. I love the trash talk, but it's too much, too soon.

Cue the wussies complaining that the Pats will use this as bulletin board material and tell Rhodes to shut his mouth.

    They'll back it up.

Yeah, they better get used to it. They are already starting to mirror their coach and even if they lose nobody is going to stop.

Wow, this certainly is a 180 degree change from the Mangini era. Ryan is really going to be second-guessed if the Jets lose this game. Personally, I'd rather the Jets just shut up and do their talking on the field. Why give the Pats additional motivation??

Second guessed by who? Do you think he cares? He is doing exactly what is needed to be done to get this team believing in themselves for the first time in 30 years or so.

Honestly I don't get all the talk either. If you're going to fuck someone up you don't sit there jabbering with them. You just walk up and crack them.

    Just play the F'in game.

We are going a little too far now. This is still the Patriots. We are going nuts with confidence though and I love that.

It's one thing for Ryan to motivate the troops, it's another thing for Rhodes who was outright taken to the woodshed in last years Thursday Night game, a game that many of us committed our lives to only to be bailed out by the O.

We play the Pats twice. How about playing ever play full out and shutting up.

I know its early, but I believe this game will set the stage for our season. If we beat the Pats convincingly, it will give this team loads of confidence. They are our #1 obstacle to overcome.

The thing is, despite our failings on 1st and second down last week, we thumped a team that appears to be a whole lot better than Buffalo....

BB is a great HC, and while I don't doubt that he can bring the Pats back from that horrible display of mediocrity they put on Monday night the question is can he do it in 4 days, against on Offense and Defense that he has very little film on....

(Remember we didn't really run the O last year )

Thought it is interesting to note that Sunday will present two of the best defensive minds of recent times

    (Yet the O/U is 46??/)

Yeah, but you still have to have the players to play great defense. We do and they don't.

I just want a win, I don't care if its 50-0 or 3-2. Embarrassment would be icing on the cake.

i wish i could hop on a plane to ny for this game. Cause i believe it will be the biggest home field advantage the jets will have ever had for a home game. Anyone going make some noise and make these players feed off that intensity
