I wasn't talking about the first series necessarily. Yankees play Detroit, that is almost guaranteed, I was talking about any short series where the Angels have home field.
"short series" typically refers to a five game series as opposed to a seven game one. Yankees-Detroit would be no guarantee.
Obviously I agree. I was referring to Don's post. Anyway: I don't think the reason Posada is out of the lineup tonight is soreness.
Posada did throw an elbow but again that does not happen if Carlson is where he is suppose to be and that is backing home plate. From what I saw Carlson was in the way of Posada when Jorge was going to run to home. Besides Carlson right after the bump was the one who began to trash talk. As a matter of fact, I think after Jorge was thrown at behind-wise....after Jorge said some words to Barajas/Carlson, it was Carlson who was beginning to walk forward as if he wanted the fight. Really again Carlson should have been in the back like any pitcher should in an RBI situation. Even going near Posada after trying to send a message is asking for trouble and is just pure stupidity.
Carlson was not in the baseline. Posada started the brawl. Just because he was nearby doesn't give Posada the excuse to throw the elbow. The guy that should've been upset was Aaron Hill. Melancon keeps hitting people and the Yankees keep trotting him out there. If his control is that bad, he should not be pitching. Posada making a big stink about it to begin with was a joke, and then what he did was inexcusable and stupid. Important players could've gotten injured just because he was being a baby.
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4479072 Girardi said he did not get hit by a fist from Toronto infielder John McDonald as he lunged into the scrum. McDonald and Girardi spoke about it before batting practice. "He was quite disturbed that his name was mentioned in that sort of situation. He's a peacemaker," Girardi said. "I got elbowed accidentally by one of my own players."
You're rediculous. Carlson was not on the baseline, not at all, not in any way shape or form. Posada elbowed him. Why wouldn't Carlson talk shit after? Fuck that.
Did you see the replay? I did. Over and over. McDonald's closed fist hit Girardi in the side of his face. Girardi could not have seen who did it from the angle it happened either, so there's no way he'd have known who did it. Maybe Girardi also got elbowed by a Yankee, but he got punched by McDonald.
I saw the replay several times, but that's what Girardi said. Anyway, if I listen to a full Yankees game, I get to hear Sterling mispronounce "premier" about a hundred times due to those stupid ads.
Cervelli gets a pie as he singles home Gardner. Toronto should've pitched out on 0-2. Instead, it was a pitch in the dirt and Gardner got second. Then he took third on a grounder by Jeter. He was nearly picked off second, though.
