I really hope we focus on this guy on 3d downs, every fcking time this little bastard makes a huge plays for those bastards on 3d down. Pisses me off, cause you know he's gonna do it, but we never have stopped him in the past. Hopefully it will be different.
It's always the same too. He runs to the yellow line, either on a handoff or YAC. You rarely see him catch it beyond the first down marker. He has a lot of Bruce Harper in him.
Yup. The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.
What if we put Revis on Welker, doubled up Moss w/ Lito and Rhodes and put Harris on Faulk? I think that could work out pretty well.
I don't know how good Scott is at coverage... I'm not suggesting we do this all the time, just a possible package for 3d down situations...
they got so many great weapons, you can't focus on all of them. putting shady on his back is the only way to stop them.
Scott would be the one covering if anything. David Harris's one weakness is probably his coverage. And BTW we wont be doubling anyone. Revis will be taking Moss one on one, and we'll be sending 5, 6, 7, and 8 guys at Brady all day long!! Honestly, do you guys really think we would put Revis on Welker? Do we have to go back to week 1, 2007 to remember how good Randy Moss is? Its only since Revis has turned into a shut down corner that we have heard Moss's name less and less against us (which is the reason Welker has killed us on 3rd downs). Ty Law was the bum last year that gave up Moss's last min TD. We just have to find a way to shut down Welker and Faulk, Moss is already taken care of, Revis will shut him down.
I may be wrong about this, but I could've sworn that in the 2nd game last year at Foxboro, Revis covered Welker, while Moss was double-teamed by Law and Rhodes.
I think it is easier to double up a WR than a slot.... I don't know if anyone on our team can successfully cover Welker 1 on 1 aside from Revis. I'd like to think that Sheppard and Rhodes could take Moss out of the equation, but who knows. And while I'm not a Law fan by any stretch I can't blame him too much for giving up that TD... that was a PERFECT pass and a remarkable catch by R. Moss... Law was all over him, I don't know if anyone could've done more to stop it.
Mangini did, but Rex Ryan sure as hell wont. We wont be doubling anyone, Revis one on one with Randy, and our defense blitzing from every possible angle. We're done with the 3 man rush, double coverage BS.
You're guys right, Welker and Faulk used to get us. That was in the Mangini scheme of things, when the safeties played 10 yards off the receivers. Fuck that. It's a thing of the past. I have confidence in the new Rex Ryan defense.
Here's a great opportunity for Vern to show us something more. Have him shadow Faulk and see what the result is..
