I for one would love to see the Jets and Dolphins mature into really strong teams. I would love to see AFC East Division games become blood baths. Not trying to be arrogant, but over the last 7-8 years division games have become snooze fests for the Patriots and their fans. IMO, this Sunday's game is the first must see NE-Jets game in a long time and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

I like your attitude, and I happen to agree with you even though for jets fans last years game vs NE at your place was great even tho Tom wasn't playing. It would be nice for every team in the AFCeast to be as good as the patriots and IMO i think they jets are clearly the closest.

Miami's div title last year was a fluke and they showed again this past weekend that when they have true competition, they simply can't muscle it just like pennington did here for years, barring a few great playoff games he engineered.

I have never been so pumped for an early regular season game in my life, and I cannot wait until sunday.

Considering the NYJ/NE split the series in 06 and 08, and the NYJ were the only team in the NFL to hold Brady and Moss to 0 TDs in 07.... I guess that must have been pretty expected from your point of view.

This is one of the bigger meetings between the teams in a long time because if the Jets can handle the Patriots it would put an exclamation point on the Jets trade for Mark Sanchez and hiring of Rex Ryan. It would change the perception of how everybody views the Jets now and in the future. It would send the confidence of a rookie QB, and an aggressive defense through the roof.

I'll bite and assume you're actually trying to be nice, but there's some serious Boston d-bag attitude coming off of that post as you posture for the possibility of a Pats comedown. It's funny that none of these posts showed up in 2007 or 2008, let alone during the successful portion of the Pats' run.

I don't think anybody can say the matchups in the last 3 years weren't big. The Mangini vs. Belichick storyline was enough to keep you interested. They were good games outside of the 07 opener (but turns out they were sniping our fucking signals). The Jets won @ NE on national TV on Thursday night last season. The games have always been huge, only difference regarding next week, to me, is the Pats don't seem nearly as tough.

Gosh, I'm shocked to find that a quick check of your previous posts DOES in fact reveal the same gloating, obnoxious behavior that one would expect of a Pats troll. How wonderful that you've had a change of heart just as your QB appears mortal and you're starting to fear a real game. Way to hedge your bets.

I mean who seriously hopes that their divisional rivals improve just so that we have exciting contests? Perhaps the last 10 years have been a bore for you. Did you even bother watching.

I applaud the effort to be a nice guy on a rival fan board but it just comes across as not very genuine.

Be serious, without Brady they are not the Patriots.

idk, I was kinda feeling the same way about the dolphins, until they won last year, now I hope we win in a blowout every game.

Cassell threw for 400 yards and 3 TD in the loss to the Jets. I suppose Brady would have thrown for 800 and gotten the win?

Comedown? Best O in the division- by far- younger faster yet still learning D, draft picks up the wazoo the next 2 years, I fully expect the pats to be really strong for the next 6-7 years. I'm just hoping the Division turns strong from top to bottom. I believe I posted a post of this nature 2 or 3 years ago.

Nothing would make me happier than if the Pats beat every division opponent 35-0 for the next 10 years. If you were thinking to yourself "oh geez this is so boring I wish this were harder" when the Pats were up 42-0 at halftime against the dolphins two years ago that's kind of strange.

edit: And it's not like there haven't been hard fought games over the last decade. Last year's thurs night OT game? '04 when both teams were 6-0 and something like that? '06 when the Jets won in Gillette. The dolphins have put up a decent fight in at least one game most years too.

Up until last night the Bills are the ones who have made it boring. Since that Lawyer Milloy game in the beginning of 2003 they have pretty much been guaranteed to shit the bed entirely before the start of the 3rd quarter.

I wasn't even aware that Pats fans watched the games. I thought you guys just waited to see if New England won the Super Bowl, then called yourselves fans.

Here is a post of mine from 1-4-07

As a Pats fan specifically and an NFL fan in general, I can't wait for next years AFC East battle. I thought the Pats would hold on this year and they did, next year, I'm not so sure. I love Division games and I think there is a chance for any of the four teams to take the title. Next year, the AFC Least will be the AFC Beast. It should also be noted that the AFC East as a division, had more total victories than any of the other 7 divisions this year.
As for this weekend? Can't wait to see how it unfolds.

Congratulations Tony. It must be pretty tough to watch your team destroy everybody, video taping or not, it must be fuckin' boring.

Here's to a shitty season for the Rats
