Obviously I found this interesting as a Pats fan.

I also think that the Jets have a young QB who's got alot of the same things going for him. Enough talent, mixed with a craving to be the best and a natural talent to rally teammates with his commitment to hard work and natural leadership ability.

    Brady called his shot
Posted by Mike Florio on September 15, 2009 12:33 PM ET
Though he didn't point to the center field wall at Gillette Stadium in the waning moments of Monday night's thrilling win over the Bills, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady impersonated Babe Ruth for a much smaller audience.

Per Peter King of SI.com, Brady entered the huddle with 5:32 remaining and his team trailing by 11 points, and he delivered an unequivocal message to the rest of the offense.

"Get your hats on,'' Brady said. "We're gonna score before the two-minute warning, get the ball back, then we're gonna score again and win this thing!''

(In an unrelated note, Matt Hasselbeck just shifted in his chair.)

"He knew," receiver Randy Moss said after the game, according to King. "When you got a guy like that, speaking like that, leading you like that, there ain't nothing for the other 10 of us to do but shut up and go out and make plays.''

Of course he said that. What else would he do? If one out of a million other things happen that were in Brady's control inside the last 5 minutes, they would have lost. Things like this get way too much emphasis.

Exactly. What QB is not going to tell his team they will score and win?

Jeeez... just posting what happened. Obviously things could have happened to make it NOT happen.

I still think it shows the faith his teammates have in him.

If they just gained faith in him last night, something is wrong.

Unless brady payed Leodis to fumble, it was out of his hands.

It shows they already have faith in him.

BTW, if the guy had taken a knee, the Pats still may have gotten the ball with time to score again (3 Timeouts and the 2 minute warning)

I know you all hope that Sanchez will be close to the player Brady is.

I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you guys on this. Enjoy the flaming.

I wasn't trying to be a douche, I just don't see why it's a big deal. I'm sure every time a team is down by 10 with 5 minutes left someone on the sideline says "we're going to win this game". Is it really note worthy that the teammates of a guy who has been a lock HOFer since he was 28 and coming off a 50 td season, have faith in him?

I wonder if Florio would have still posted that if Brady threw a pick on their first play? Ya think? For it to have been accurate he would have had to say that their kick returner would have a brain fart and run the ball out instead of taking a knee and that is the how we will get the ball back.

I don't remember Florio telling us what Brady said in the huddle after Burress' touchdown in the 2007 Super Bowl.

"Randy, I won't lie. There's no chance in hell these crazy motherfuckers are going to give me enough time for you to get deep, so if by any chance the ball comes anywhere near you, don't kill yourself going after it, because there's going to be a holding call anyway."

Wait, is Florio reporting what Peter King is reporting?!

I thought it was interesting that he explained how it was gonna happen. We're gonna score before the 2 minute warning, get the ball back and win it. And he didn't use any timeouts.

Of course every QB goes into the huddle saying we're gonna win.

Per Peter King of SI.com, Tom Brady's dong tastes like heaven. Mike Florio of PFT.com concurred.

Probably a good idea. The rest of us don't have to squat.

So what you're saying is McKelvin got one night with Gisele for that fumble. Got it. You're right, it is curious.

Peter King recently moved to Boston. Expect him to ramp things up a few dozen notches.

What the Hell is the alternative?

Brady: "I'm not going to lie to you guys, we're boned. Fuck this, I'm getting a sandwich."

The Monday Night Miracle in an alternate universe:

Do any QB's ever offer negativity in the huddle when they are behind?

King and Florio are Brady-loving pole-smokers.

how many times has he said anything comparable and it not come to fruition? I'm willing to bet against the Giants he told them in the huddle to get their hats on because they were going to score, the D was going to stop the Giants, and they would win the Super Bowl.

I agree, what else would he say?

"Look fellas, we are going to lose, but lets get some garbage time yards. Pad the stats at least!"
