QFT? I love listening to Sanchez at this press conference. I think he just gave player on the offense for his performance.
Speaking of something similiar....did anyone see the dude in the front row give TJ the finger after the 2nd TD?
How many people really expected Sanchez to play as well as he played today??? He had to exceed almost everyone's expectations. For a rookie QB to play a game like that on the road in his first start is amazing. Then when you consider the success he had on 3rd down through the first 3 quarters when the Jets could not run the ball and you have to acknowledge that he played a tremendous game. The thing that impresses me the most is his pocket presence. He senses the rush, move around very well, has great footwork, is extremaly smart, and has poise. He has a very high ceiling.
that about sums it up. I'm still pinching myself. I never anticipated this kind of starting game from the kid, especially on the road against a run-stuffing defense. We were supposed to be "run first," anyone rememvber? So here is Sanchez in a hostile as hell stadium with no initial running game. What does the rookie do? He takes it all on his shoulders and starts making 3rd and 9, 3rd and 8 completions. I just think this game was unbelievable... he totally exceeded my expectations.
After further review, it looks like Sanchez is the one who turned back and asked the ref for the ball. The ref was headed in the opposite direction with his head turned away, but Sanchez had the afterthought to turn back and ask him for the ball. I think it was one of those moments in his career where he said to himself, "Hey, I did pretty well today and maybe I'd like to have this one for my trophy shelf." This was a monumental game for our new QB. I think we're going to have an interesting run with this kid.
I noticed it i was dying when i saw it. TJ should have done the fake handoff to that guy and just ran back with the ball.
Hehe, Dork2. I was waiting for someone to drag that thing out. And Sanchez saw them, too. There was a big thread on it right after the draft. They got a beat down on here for it. SowellTrain, he'll probably never show his face on here again if Sanchez isn't "terrible".
He was so happy when the ref gave the ball back to him. This kid has undeniable passion for the game. That was one thing I missed about letting Chad go.
The guy on our left is just a sad site...but its the guy on the right..hes the guy that if that ran another 10 seconds gets a baseball bat to the head just for being able to do that thing with his lips around 3 seconds in. Its that "I want everyone in tv land to know I hate this move so I can be popular but I havent done enough with my lips yet to show how much I hate this pick" move. He takes his lips to a new level...exposing the true asshole. Its that Bill Murray look from caddyshack during his quest for the gopher...look. I thought Sanchez was incredible. They say do not put much into preseason. Although he surprised me, he showed the footwork...the ability to know where the rushers are around him..ability to escapse the pocket when need be and make a play briefly against the Ravens..then all night against the Giants and the first drive against the Eagles. This kid is the goods. He can beat you long..he can beat you short. He has plenty of zip. Most importantly....hes very smart with a burning desire to get better and a burning desire to win. The ups will exceed the downs...and I wouldnt be surprised at all if this kid has a rather successful first year.
