My son & I decided to drive 170 miles each way to watch the NYJs play yesterday The stadium is terrific. The dome is terrific. The noise inside the dome is certainly a + for the home team since the noise is deafening. From my 1st time experience in a dome I think our & the NYG owner may a huge mistake in not doming the new stadium. We had field level seats so went down to field pre game & there was Marck Sanchez's father & he took pix with me & my son & #6 came over to talk to his dad for a few seconds & naturally we wished him BOL. Our seats were behind the NYJ bench on the 20 yard line. Up above us was Woody, Cherbet & JWN & his daughter & some other people I did not know. Woody was in a biz suit & wearing a green tie. The Texans fans were quite respectful & they did not taunt us before or during the game No food or drinks are allowed into the stadium & here are some of the prices Bottle of beer $7.50 Soda $4.25 Bag or peanuts $4.50 The game naturally was terrific & from what we expected to what we got it made the trip to the game even more enjoyable I met other NYJ fans but sorry to say no other TGGers either in the parking lot or walking to or from the seats The UD in this stadium is way up there. I think people in the top rows need oxygen to breath because they are way, way, way up there. Besides some normal rookie mistakes #6 played like he played in the NFL for years. His aplomb & poise was just wonderful to see Now I am off to the contact lens MD to have my lens checked to make sure that what I saw yesterday really occurred.
I am Glad you enjoyed yourself, too, Champ. It is great that you were able to share the experience with your son. I was very impressed with Sanchez, too. Good arm. Fantastic foot-wrok. Good field presence. He has the goods - no doubt. He was way better than Clemens on Clemens best day; but, I don't think we have seen the best of Mark Sanchez just yet. Even after the game during his interview I was very impressed by his humbleness (and he was really mad at himself for the int he threw). Just a good kid. The Jets may have gotten lucky for once. We'll see................this year is going to be fun to root for the guy; that's for sure.
Good for you Champ. Check the picture thread and let us know if you are pictured in the crowd. Maybe we can ID you?
Same. Good to hear from you, champ, glad you got to see a nice win. Joe Willie was in the crowd too, all the old-timers coming back.
Great to see you posting, champ, glad you made it to the game. champ pimping TGG in the Houston Texans parking lot, that's cool.
Glad to hear you and your son made it out to the game Champ. And let me help you save some money right now and tell ya...that what you saw yesterday, was indeed the New York Jets out there playing against the Houston Texans. Total domination throughout the entire game. The Sunshiner side will always welcome you with open arms Champ. This thread/post was a good start.
Champ, you sure got a heck of a treat getting to watch them dismantle the Texans. I would have loved to have been there and see it first hand. Good to see you back on the boards.
Yeah we definitely needed a dome here to deal with the crappy weather, could have had multiple super bowls hosted here too
