I'll give TJ credit.....he made plays when he had to today.

    Was he spectacular? not really.

Do i still think he's replaceable? fuck yes.

very replaceable. he is IMO a slightly above average back at the moment. nothing that can't be replaced in the second or third round of the draft next year.

many of us have struggled so long as fans were craving instant gratification and that is what washington gives us. on the other hand TJ has proven his effectiveness although his approach is patient and methodical something many of us fans have a hard time stomaching because weve been patient for so long.

Like others have said once teams start respecting Sanchez as a decent QB they will stop stacking the box and more running lanes will be available. Until then teams will stack the box and make Sanchez beat them. I imagine Thomas Jones success came from a combination of the defense getting tired and the Texans respecting Sanchez's ability to throw the ball.

I don't want to take anything away from Thomas Jones, but our run offense looked horrible aside from two big runs. That looks to be a big problem, and we have to get that fixed before we go up against real run defenses.

    Inactive?

TJ is a durable workhorse. That's his best quality.

I'm not saying he's not replaceable, but maybe we should see Greene take the field without getting an ouchy before we start crowning him the heir apparent.

I know this was mentioned above by a couple of people but it is worth saying again. Didn't the Texans stack the line all day because they wanted to make Sanchez, a rookie in his first start, beat them rather than LW and TJ? Doesn't that help explain why TJ was hit over and over again at the line or right behind it?

    No. It was TJ's fault.

The unbalanced line formations did him in and he wasn't real comfortable with that. But once Faneca started pulling he starting breaking off those runs that he had last year.

He's a straight up north-south guy who just wants to pound the ball. The weird formation shifts are not really his thing.

Nice lack of a sense of humor. I'm not up for getting banned at the start of the season, so have a nice life.

Jones was critical to the Jets winning today. He kept his head in the game despite getting buried at the line all game, and displayed great patience and vision on both of his big runs. Just as importantly, he did an excellent job blocking for Sanchez all day.

I can't believe that on the same freaking day that the Jets prove they might have a decent team this season, there are fans who really want to give away a guy who just ran for 100 yards for a 3rd round pick.

Houston had 4 first downs the entire first half, including 3 on one drive that ended in a Slaton fumble. Houston was sucking it up the entire first half actually. The only other first down was on their opening possession.

I thought we played consistently through out the course of the game, and I want to give most of the credit to Sanchez and Stuckey. Stuckey had several big plays, from the 11 yard catch on third and 10 when he literally got about 6 extra yards with his power move. Don't forget the TD.

Sanchez was incredible on third downs. Simply incredible. I mean I haven't even seen Brady being this good ever in one game on these many third downs, not that I have seen every game of his. I know it was just one game, and Im only saying Sanchez was incredible 'today'. However, from all his preseason appearances and his first NFL game, I think Sanchez will be an all-pro QB with in his first 3 seasons, maybe even next season. Just my opinion after seeing his footwork, pocket pressence/awareness, decision making, mobility, accuracy, selling the fakes, and even throwing power. First NFL appearance and he's shown it all. He will only get better but there might be some bumps on the way. He outplayed Stafford today aswell, even though there two different defenses.
