I believe Rex said he doesn't like to choose set captains for the whole year. He likes to rotate captains on a weekly basis for some reason I do not remember.
That's crazy. Even if he decides to name different captains for different games, there will most likely be only a few real captains. I'd guess Scott, Mangold, Rhodes, someone on ST maybe Izzo if we still even have him.
Guessing Jets will not be wearing those C's with the stars on their jerseys this year. Baltimore never did, and if we're picking new captains each week, we sure as hell arn't going to wear them. Good. Pittsburgh and New England don't do it either.
The Jets have named their team captains but are not divulging them to the press. Wait, no, that's the Browns.
Rex doesn't see them as pointless. He see's it as an honor that people need to earn on a weekly basis. If they win the game where they're captain they get something (I forget what). I think it was a picture or something.
Wasn't Mike Nugent a team captain one year? ...yeah, captains are fucking pointless. I want Bart Scott at the coin flip every Sunday, talking trash. The rest is moot.
I know it's a long shot. Vern Gholston. You'll call me fukin stupid, but Vern Gholston. That guy left it out there, granted it was only one play he left it all out there. It's getting it back.
It's a play on, leaving it out there on every play. Please don't stare at my sentences I won't be held responsible for the damage
No, I just always remember the Captains being announced pretty much in conjunction with the PS roster in recent years. I understand the "earn it" concept of rotational Captains, but in a way I think it is unfortunate that we won't have a stable, concrete group of core leaders.
