I mean there are people who still think this guy is better than Revis. But Tennessee allowed two 100 yard recievers last night. See what no Haynesworth means Tennessee fans? In to addition to that, there were times that Ben Roth has 10-15 seconds in the pocket. I know it's hard for cornerbacks to cover with that much time, but all those times didn't account for all those yards.

    Cortland Finnegan = overrated.

    Where was he??!?

News: Titans DB Cortland Finnegan led the team with nine solo tackles during a Week 1 loss to the Steelers. He finished with 10 tackles and one interception.

Why there he is! Alot of db's would gladly take that statline.

This is why fantasy football is gay. Stats don't mean shit if you get burned and tackle after the catch.

Say what you like about stats. But to call someone overrated after acknowledging the lack of pressure on the qb AND after a day that same db had a 80 yard Int Return is ridiculous. Like most others have said already, I would gladly take him on the nyj.

Stats are the only problem I have with the argument. I still think he's a very good corner, but statlines are kind of meaningless to me. They barely tell a fraction of the story. Yet it's the only thing that matters to these fantasy geeks that you see at the sports bar with a laptop next to their beer pitcher

I was saying the same thing the OP said about Finnegan last night. He's obviously not the same player without Haynesworth collapsing that pocket, but I believe he's still good. I think as they figure out better schemes on the DL his game play will get better.

Last year I saw him playing man coverage most of the time. He would line up directly across the WR and jam them at the line. He shadows extremely well and has the speed to keep up with the fastest receivers. I don't know why, for some reason, they had him playing about 10 yards off his man last night. Like I said, I'm assuming the Titans are still trying to figure out their pass rushing schemes.

You don't make all-pro if you are overrated..you might make the pro-bowl if you are though.

There was no pressure on Berger the whole game. I don't see how that's Finnegan's fault. Those wide outs are kinda good too- two Super Bowl MVP's.

That's right. But it would have been a great night for me to have him on my fantasy team! Here I am stuck hoping Kerry Rhodes blitzes a lot this week!!!

The people who are backing up Finnegan did you watch last nights game? He was getting destroyed by Santonio Holmes and Hines Ward consistently who combined for 16 receptions 249 and 1 TD. Finnegan's interception came on a end of the 1st half 55 yard hail mary bomb play far from impressive.

Don't get me wrong I'd take him over Lito Sheppard but he's no shut down cb.

    Revis>Finnegan

So you are saying he covered both of them at the same time? No wonder.

Obviously he didn't cover both of them but I watched the game he was staying on the left side of the field all night. Ward and Holmes don't exclusively play 1 side of the field when he faced either of them 1 ON 1, he didn't provide tight coverage. The guy isn't in the same league with Revis, Champ Bailey, Osumugha or however u spell his name, hell even Corey Webster.

Kid is certainly a playmaker but not all pro.

It's obvious that Finnegan is overrated. He got a shitload of INTs, people go nuts for INTs. Ty Law 2005, 10 INTs and a Pro Bowl but he played like shit the entire time..... Finnegan is good not great.

He was matched up against another physical player in Hines Ward that he couldn't punk out.
