I'm not asking which team will be better, but which QB will have better stats. This will be a hot topic every week and you know ESPN will be breaking them down to compare.

Remember, Flacco only had 14 TDs to 12 Ints last year and he was considered successful.

Sanchez will be playing conservative offense and field position games where the defense can help win. This usually says it will be low scoring games.

Stafford has a very good #1 WR and will be playing from behind a lot. This means he will throw more passes and could have better stats, but it doesn't mean wins.

Something to consider, Detroit has the easiest schedule in the NFL this year and the Jets play in the AFC East where every team will have a 500+ record.

I say Sanchez will start slow until Schott takes off the leash, but gain fast at the end and edge out Stafford in a tight race.

I will have to say Stafford. Though i cannot see the team as a whole doing nearly as well as ours, i think that Stafford, with his receiver (if we do not get our own number one) will be able to put up better stats.

I'd be quite disappointed if we couldn't produce better QB play than the Lions.

Edit: turns out I'm not really disappointed.

I am hoping Keller fills the role of #1 WR like Gates and Gonzales.

Still want a #1 WR and hoping it is Marshall.

What stat are you focusing on? QB Rating? Touchdowns? Interceptions? Yards? W-L's?

    I would say:

    QB Rating: Sanchez
    TD's: Stafford
    INT's: Sanchez (will have less)
    Yards: Stafford
    W-L: Sanchez

Hard to throw the ball when you're getting sacked all day

Sounds about right. Sanchez has the more complete team around him, but Stafford has Calvin Johnson. Should be a very god learning seaosn for both of them.

I picture Stafford having more bombs downfield (Johnson) adding to mroe yards and more long td's while sanchez has the better supporting cast. This will add up to stafford leading in yards and td's with sanchez leading in ab rating and ints

I picked Stafford, but it will be close. The only reason I'd give the nod to Stafford is Megatron. He's a beast and makes any QB a little better. Unfortunately, the Jets do not have a true #1 WR, let alone some of Megatron's talent. Sanchez clearly has the better o-line and running game, but I think the team's lack at WR will hurt him a little bit.

It will hurt as far as this poll and competition goes, but i do not think it will hurt our team more. If however we get a number one WR i think sanchez h as the better stats.

Good point. Pretty close what I think it will be.

    QB Rating: Sanchez
    TD's: Sanchez
    INT's: Sanchez (will have less)
    Yards: Stafford
    W-L: Sanchez

I think Sanchez will throw more TDs as well. Even though we don't have a number 1 WR, we have pretty much everyone else on the offense. Lions offense won't see the field alot as I don't think their D is good enough to get the ball back and even if they do, they won't be getting the ball from midfield. They will have to put together long drives to put score on the board, unlike Jets. And that means fewer more yardage, but fewer TDs. Playing from behind will also result in more Ints for Stafford.

As for Sanchez, he'll be playing the shorter field game (at least that is what the plan is). This will result in relatively high number of TDs, but possibly fewer yards. Since our D and Run game is suppose to be our strength, I don't see Sanchez forcing a bunch of throws either.

Besides, Sanchez had a better preseason by far compared to Stafford. I think we got the best of the QB. Of course, that is judging their play in the pre season alone.

Agreed, if we get say Marshall it will take a lot of pressure off Keller and Sanchez will have a good year.

Stafford will throw for more yardage, toss more TD's and INT's, as he'll have more pass attempts. They are playing the Saints. They'll be down 3 TD's by the 2nd Quarter, playing catch up for most of the game, which means they'll have to air it out to have any shot at winning.

Houston's run D isn't the best. We should be able to move the chains on the ground, and I expect Schottenheimer to be conservative with Sanchez and the passing game early on.

All you do is toss it up on C Johnson 's side of the field and it's a catch. Seriously, this is the most un tradeable offensive player in the nfl.

This one's easy. Stafford may be the better QB in the long run, although I doubt it, however Sanchez is the more accurate passer and accuracy is where early success lies.

I think Sanchez will easily have the better QB rating and completion percentage but without having the deep threats that Detroit does he may not have as many yards or tds (or ints).
