New news According to beat writer Rich Cimini, the Jets are "exploring multiple player-acquisition possibilities," but Brandon Marshall is not on their radar. Safety Kerry Rhodes started a flurry of speculation among Jets fans, but a Marshall deal was never a realistic scenario. That doesn't mean they won't be targeting other receivers without Marshall's cachet, such as Reggie Brown or Sinorice Moss. Please say neither of those are on their radar either.

According to beat writer Kevin Acee, this will be Shawne Merriman's last season with the Chargers. Acee said this week's issue with Tila Tequila have no bearing on his status with the team. Merriman's contract is up at the end of the season and the Chargers weren't going to bring him back anyway. Acee even speculates that Merriman could end up parting ways with the Chargers before this season is over. Yeah, bring Merriman to the Jets
