September 7, 2009 10:57 AM By Rich Cimini Forgetting Brandon Marshall There's some pretty intense Brandon Marshall trade speculation out there, fueled, in part, by a cryptic remark by Kerry Rhodes on his Twitter page, so let me set the record straight: As of this morning, the Jets are exploring multiple player-acquisition possibilities, but Marshall is not one of them, I'm told. I'd be lying if I said I know what they are -- you have to think they're checking out receivers -- but I do know that Marshall is not on the radar. They intend to keep newly-acquired Kevin O'Connell, sticking with four quarterbacks. Does this mean they won't pick up the phone in a week to renew the Marshall talks? Of course not. Potential deals in the NFL never really are dead, but as of this moment, Marshall isn't on the front burner. Its funny how several websites that supposedly report NFL news are running with this. Most of them are saying that this is obviously referring to a Marshall trade. Obviously? This is why no one takes any of these sites seriously. One even had the nerve to say that ESPN wasn't reporting it yet. Well, no shit, its not real news, its some dude's twitter acct.
They're running with it because it gets fans hitting their site and they can actually provide a source. It doesn't matter that it's all probably a load of horse shit.
I can't believe Cimini gets to keep his job year in and year out and reports nothing...ever. We know more about personnel moves from tgg than Cimini does from inside the players' locker room.
