He was in 3 QB competitions. Where do u not see a fair chance? He couldn't beat out a rookie with 16 collegiate starts while in his 4th yr. Again, where do u not see a fair chance?
the more draft picks we lose for this 2010 draft the angrier i get. the fuck do we need O'Connell for. forget the Pats playbook shit, i don't care.
Denver and KC had pretty good motives to make an offer for O'Connell... if we beat theirs it's because we offered more. Since we have a rookie QB and a good young QB the only reason to get another young QB is because we want to pack him up in some sort of trade. If it was just to have someone in place of Clemens we would have gone after a veteran FA. Funny thing is Denver and KC are interested and they are the two teams who own Marshall and Bowe, both of whom we have been linked to this summer.
I've lost interest in that Denver malcontent. As if I had any, in the first place. But, I do agree - this has to be part of a bigger scheme. If not, it was insanely stupid. Picking up a quarterback who was beaten out by a rookie UFA, and quickly pushed away by, of all teams, Detroit. Stink must not be a strong enough word.
Wow... I honestly would have prefered to see us pick up Garcia... the guy knows how to win (except in Detroit where nobody wins) . His reasons for being cut in Oakland are absolute lunacy... I wonder what this is all about....maybe a trade or maybe somebody going to IR.
It's a bit presumptuous to assume that Detroit pushed him out because of ability. He was rather highly touted as a young QB coming out of college as a developmental project. I look at it more as Detroit exploiting top waiver status to try to get something out of him.
I would think it has to come up pretty quick..I don't know how long we can have an extra player on board.
I don't get why we traded for a backup QB with no experience. Hopefully, we didn't give up too much. Clemens has no trade value.
