Good post. Clemens doesn't seem to have command of the Offense. Maybe it is a mixture of bad luck and no leadership presence. Ainge has gotten a lot better; promote him to the number 2 spot. Though it is not going to happen because the jets feel obligated to stay with Clemens as the backup.

I'll say. That last pass to Clowney was sweet. And he does look much more comfortable out there then Clemens.

im not defending clemens and i was definitely more impressed with ainge, but they again didnt really give clemens a equal shot i thought, that int wasnt really his fault.

regardless i would have rather they left him in to recoupe and build up his stock so we can trade him with some value, now hes worth nothing.

It seems like clemens has no luck, Guys drop his passes and make mistakes when he's under center. Ainge has done a solid job but his feetwork is very sloppy but he does throw a nice spiral and the recievers seem to catch him better then clemens. Good pre-season but i still would keep Clemens as the #2.

That's fine in theory, but what if they left him there and shit the bed even worse? Face it, the KC ship has sailed and if tonight wasn't the final nail in his coffin with the Jets, nothing will be.

He'll be #2 on the depth chart as a formality and be gone next season. Tonight was completely an audition for Ainge going forward. He's made the most of his opportunities, Kellen never has...

The thing with Clemens is that he looks so uncomfortable in the pocket. Clemens is all over the place. He is a nervous QB. Ainge has simply looked more in command and has played better.

Ainge has a strong arm and does throw a nice ball. His delivery is pretty slow though and that is a concern. I would like to see how he does against a 1st team defense before promoting him and releasing Clemens.

Is it just me but has Chad gotten taller and stronger? :)
It's strange seeing a new number 10 out there.

Nice game from Ainge. Good Job. But KC threw 2 passes and he got tagged w/an INT b/c the receiver couldn't hold on to a nice pass. Ainge threw 17 passes and got the majority of the reps.

Right, lets trash our coaches for supporting our players. How dare we allow the team to build unity and cohesiveness. We should only be happy if the players and coaches are trashing each other.... Ainge played great. But we need to trash somebody so lets trash Clemens who had 3 possessions - 1 of which ended w/wallace wright (see ya) bobbling a catch that led to an INT and 1 of which led to a Jets TD....

Ainge has already locked up a future in this league. If he's not the best backup option on a good team, he's the best starting option on a not so good team. I like what he has done thus far. He might turn out to be trade bate later on down the road a la Matt Schaub.

I got bashed so much early on for suggesting that Ainge MIGHT become the 2nd string qb by the end of pre-season. So much for that.

The only time I liked Clemens was when the Jets drafted him. Ron Jaworski said he was a sleeper, so I thought we had something.

But like most picks in drafts, you never know what you have until they actually play. And when he played, for the most part he stunk. That's why he received the worst qb rating in the league. Now, I think he's gotten better, but I think he's a decent third stringer, which maybe affords him the opportunity to hold a football on an extra point or for a windy day kick-off.

Ainge should be the number 2, and to Clemens I say good luck on someone else's team!

Clemens should be #2 this year; I think that's obvious, but next year it's in everyone's best interest to let him pack his bags. I doubt he's going to want to battle for #2 behind a young franchise QB at vet. min.. Ainge had a good college career so I've kept my faith in him, even if he sounds a bit slow in his interviews. After this preseason I'm convinced he's going to be a great backup for us.

Dump Clemens, make Ainge #2, put a QB on the practice squad and create a spot for Woodhead.

Clemenes played his last pre-season game as a jet. He will not be a Jet next year and Ainge will be the # 2. This is great, 2 good young QB's, finally!!!

I can safely say that I would feel more confident with anige coming in to relieve Sanchez then Kellen.
