Those are horrible ideas, the only really good one is ESPN because they actually wait till people declare, the magazines often have really outdated rankings and usually only have seniors or they list juniors that dont declare. But I'm pretty sure Mel Kiper has a book, not sure when the new one comes out

    Maverick.........A few thoughts

Magazines on the NFL draft, IMO, are a bad idea. College Football is changing day to day...injuries, players developing..etc. Getting a magazine that has info from 2 months ago doesn't cut it.

The best way to learn about the NFL draft is to watch College Football as much as possible. Get to know the Teams, Conferences and Players. I watch more College Football than the NFL. I would never miss a Jet's game. I don't enjoy watching other NFL teams when the Jets aren't playing. Study top H.S. players about to enter College. Rivals is a great site for alot of this info. This is a labor of love for myself......I wish I could have made a career as a scout.

Google "NFL Draft" and many web sites are available....find one you are comfortable with and the author's evaulations are on a similar page as your views. I don't rely much on web sites for evaulations, I try to study a player from playing in real time. I do some reseach on College webs sites.

Be a regular on Tgg's draft site....I've learned alot from alot the members that frequent this site. This is a labor of love, I enjoy College Football and the NFL draft process.

Enter TGG's NFL MOCK DRAFT in Jan and March, check the sticky section above for the results of our 7Rd Mock last March.

Remember, this is an art not a science, there are alot of opinions that differ, people get pissed, temper's rise,.....even the so called experts disagree. I recommend that before you give an opinion on player...do your research.

this is great advice, WW85....thanks for posting.

I want to get involved more with the draft talk...and especially the mock drafts held in the early spring and winter.

I've spoken with Mr.Electric about this as well...and he basically alluded to the same stuff you re-iterated in this post.
