^ That's about his weight. Yeah, I'm including the playoffs. It is part of the workload, so it makes sense to include it. He has 5 or 6 starts left. He's at 199.1 now. You have to figure he'll finish the regular season between 230 and 240 innings. Add to that a few playoff starts, and he's over 250 again. Some guys are just durable, true. But with the vast majority, it does take a toll. It's a good sign that he's held up this year after the way he was overused down the stretch with Milwaukee.
I wonder who's in second after CC for innings pitched from 2007-2009. He probably has a sizable lead. Halladay typically pitches a lot of innings, and he's like 30 innings behind CC during that timespan. On another note, Bruney has sucked. Seems like every time he doesn't pitch effectively and has to be replaced before he blows the lead. I'm sure he'll be good again next year, following his even/odd trend.
Agreed. Right. You consider the odds with the vast majority if making the decision in a vacuum. If you have a pitcher, though, who has proven to be very durable, you worry about it less. I mean, it wasn't that long ago that pitchers would throw 300 innings and top 250 regularly. Look at what Catfish Hunter did. I think it just depends on the pitcher. In this case, I'm not that concerned about Sabathia.

Sick 9th last night. I was about to just go to bed but then decided to just watch the Yanks bat. Crazy. Bruney has been really disappointing. He needs to pitch in games with big leads to get himself fixed. Putting him into close games right now is a bad idea. CC is awesome. If Burnett can just get on track we'll have a great 1-3 lineup with CC, AJ, Andy in the playoffs.
The weather is turning cold fast and now they are headed to Canada. Rivera has already tweaked a groin...whoever is in charge of conditioning better jump on it in a hurry or there are going to be a lot more groin pulls soon.
But they have to walk from the hotel to the team bus before going to the stadium! Cashman and Girardi are such fools for not forfeiting these games to keep the team healthy.
