Hmm. I don't know if I put Ferguson on the level that you have yet. But yeah I agree, Harris isn't one of the best 5 players on the team. I think a lot of people are excited to see what he can do next to Bart Scott and under the tutelage of Ryan. But I think if it's him and a third rounder for a legit top 10 premier wideout, which is something this team aside from the year Coles had in 2002 hasn't had since Keyshawn; it's a no brainer.
Who's going to get us to a Super Bowl? An inside linebacker or A potential franchise signal caller with a legitimate #1 wideout plus a nasty receiving tight end ????
NY Post: Jets not interested. NY Daily News: Nothing. Newsday: Not going to Jets. NJ Star Ledger: Nothing. Denver Post: Not being traded. Where's the trade? Wouldn't one of the papers post it already?!!!
Yeah, my mistake WW. I thought it was the Bears 2010 1st they traded for Smith, but it was their natural 2010 first. So the Broncos still have the Bears first for next year.
point taken. but Marshall is no Tom Brady. not even close. i wanna see him put up numbers without Shanahan airing it out. i think mostly what I'm getting at is I think your downplaying Harris skill level to try to level with the people whod be furious if we shipped him out. i will say though yeah harris has always had coverage issues, but to call him a liability on every play is a little much. thats just my opinion. heres what it comes down to, for me. can brandon marshall stay out of trouble? if he can, hes amazing. thats not even debatable. but if Marshall's off the field issues continue here, this whole discussion is kind of a waste.
It seems to me the majority of the recent Super Bowl winners have won with defense and not with the combination of "A potential franchise signal caller with a legitimate #1 wideout plus a nasty receiving tight end"
last year.. what teams where in the playoffs.. steelers, ravens, eagles.. #1, #2, #3 Defense in the league.. answer to the question is a DEFENSE.. better point..
wow....I leave the board for 3 hours or so......and I have to sift thru 18 pages of horse manure....just to find out that we're no further ahead with this potential trade than we were were 6 hours ago. niiiiice.
Dude sports news is all PR bullshit. You can never believe headlines until they do or don't happen. Look at the whole Favre saga last summer... Jets fans have been through this charade of words before. Only time will tell. PS - fuck all these new scrubby posters who aren't reading the threads and post redundant shit. I had to drudge through that shit for 8 pages and I have my post pr page set on 40 or something.
It's kind of funny to me how this story has gone from "We aren't trading Brandon...to ok..this what we want. Broncos want to trade Marshall bad..and I personally don't think Harris is too bad a price, as long as it's just Harris and maybe a third. Anything else..I say screw them.
I know Harris is a good player, but I see and agree with the knocks he had when he entered the draft in 2006. He's not the fastest guy and he's a liability in coverage (not on EVERY play...but offenses can exploit that hole). I like him a lot too, but he's always been a two down linebacker in my eyes. I'm scared about Marshall's behavior as well, but I'm hoping he'll mature if he's in the right locker room and surrounded by players that act the right way. He's upset about his quarterback getting run out of town and he's upset that he was lied to by a team he's played so hard for... Bring him here, give him an incentive based deal, and make him become the player he can be.
