I'll be happy when he's able to return to the slot. I've been excited about his ability in that position for quite some time now, and I hate that he's being forced outside. I think he can be something truly special underneath for us, not just an average wideout. Unfortunately, we don't appear willing to even experiment with Clowney as our starting wideout. Go figure.
He reminds me of L. Coles but with a better attitude. The guy if very talented and the only reason we got him in the late rounds is because he had trouble staying healthy at Clemson. I would still rather see him as the slot receiver, but he is definitely starting calibre.
i'll take my chances with stuckey and jco.with keller playing the gates role and leon playing the westbrook role i'd say we got enough weapons to play with.better than dealing for marshall or boldin
Stuckey's another role player, just like Smith and Clowney. They'll all make plays this year but I'm not expecting any of them to make a considerable offense-changing contribution on their own the way a true #1 receiver would. Still, as a role player I'm quite happy with all three of our guys.
I didn't watch the game. Was Clowney ever in the game and if he was did he ever get open and was never thrown to or he never got open? You can't say the guy didn't play well if he never got on the field or was never thrown to.
I'm not sure if he even was thrown to, didn't mean to insinuate that. I thought he was in the game here and there, but I may be mistaken. I wasn't looking for him. This was the first time this preseason that Stuckey seemed prominent, that was my main point.
i would have cut him for thinking he had a walk in TD when he still had two defenders pursuing him. he's pure speed, not a technician. He's either a PS or a last week cut.
I think he's not allowed to be on the PS because he already played in the regular season for the Vikings. If we carry 6 WRs i wouldn't rule him out making the roster as neither of the remaining receivers really stepped up. But still, i'd rather go with 5 receivers and carry one more RB for the season.
you're right I forgot he played for the Vikes. I'd rather have the RB too, considering this team will be running the ball 25+ times every game... hopefully.
I don't think he's going to make it. He seems fast, but he didn't really get enough reps to indicate that they're going to carry him. He might be one of the 5 or 6 players on the bubble, along with Woodhead, etc.
Stuckey is best suited as a slot receiver. He is without question our 2nd best WR, but many will call the slot the #3.
We will almost unquestionably carry 6 receivers. We like 5 receiver sets, and Wallace and Brad are making the team regardless because of ST.
Thats true, he'll need a good game against the eagles to be really considered for the 53 man roster. I just haven't seen to much out of Davis, Herny or Whittaker, so he seems to be the front runner out of this group. Unfortunately, Stuckey and Clowney (i know you don't like him but as of now he has his spot cemented) have had some injury issues in the past, so Ryan may be inclined to carry a 6th receiver. He may also very well check out the other roster cuts, especially from the eagles, before going with Allison.
